Chapter 14

The first thing she saw when she partially opened her eyes was a ray of sunlight filtering through the plastic tarp at the edge of the crack. The glare dazzled her and she had to close her eyelids again until her pupils adjusted to the light.

When she wanted to move her body a sudden pain ran through her waist. She looked down and a smile appeared on her lips. The head of the boy named Aulric, and whom a day before she did not know, rested on her calves, preventing all movement. Zhi suddenly remembered the restless evening of love that night amid the roar of the storm out there, and her heart melted. She tried to remove her legs from under the young man's head but as she did so he woke up as well.

"Hello!" Zhi said.

"Hello ... was everything that happened last night real or just a dream of mine?" Aulric smiled, planted a kiss on her thighs, and sat up on the floor.

"It was all real ... very real and very exciting."
