Marcel watched as Cain's silhouette ascended towards the mansion and eventually disappear into the distance.

He put on a bitter smile as the reality of their situation dawned on him, the presence of Cain had given him a sense of safety and confidence.

He turned his gaze toward the amassed forces of the Baron — soldiers and knights gathered, significantly outnumbering them.

Within their forces, Marcel counted five low D-rank knights.

A cold sweat broke out on his face; although they had managed to kill six of them earlier, the remaining five posed a significant threat.

Marcel, himself a low D-rank, understood he was the only one on his side capable of contending with them, but the odds of them overwhelming him were high.

Despite having discussed combat tactics for this exact situation, Marcel understood the inherent unpredictability of battle.

[I wonder how long we will be able to last.]

He thought, his heart beating faster.
