Kapitel 9: THE OFFICE
"So, today you are free?" Peter ask. Jo nodded her head. "Want to go office?" Jo smile and nod her head. They freshen up and went to Peter's office. Everyone greeted Peter and Jo as they pass by. Finally they reach the office. Jo was shock to see Peter's office so messy. "What happened?" Documents all over, even the floor.
"The enemy's organization will be on the move soon. About 2 weeks from now. We have our people inside who send us all this. I think she will be focussing at you. Be ready by then." Peter says. "What about her son?" Jo ask. "Because of the coming event, she has sent her son away earlier than expected. Given excuse like wanting him to have more time preparing and get use to the university."
"Her son is not involve, so I'm willing to groom him. He has the talent. In fact, I came to know because he told me of his suspicious of his mother. I ask him what if his suspicion is right? His face dampen and he let me decide. of coarse I found out everything and didn't tell him the truth. So, he's still in the dark." Peter says.
Jo: "How are we going to deal with it?"
Peter: "All our men already in position."
Jo: "What must I do?"
Peter: "Act normal. You are our bait."
Jo: "What? That's it?"
Peter: " No, let her capture you. I want her to surface before all the people in the island. Let the people decide what to do with her. They have the right to know her true identity."
Jo: "Ok."
Peter walks to the cabinet and took out a belt and a ring with 2 diamond stones, gives to Jo and says, "This is a tranquilizer belt. The ring is the ignition. By pressing the red diamond, the belt will shoot out a needle dart without letting the enemy knows it. Then we can capture her. Therefore, from today onwards, you have to wear it to protect you from harm. It is specifically make for you." Jo look at the device and nod her head.
"Did you call home? You family must have missed you dearly." "I talk to them everyday before I go to bed. Told them that I might be back home for vacation soon. Just not sure the exact date. Once decided, will inform them."
Peter: "Do they know what are you doing?"
Jo: "No. I didn't say a word."
Peter bend and gave her a kiss. "That's my girl." He walks to a pile of documents on the floor and pass it to her. "Read this and tell me what you think about it, what counter reaction you will use." Jo took it, walk to the sofa and sit down to read. As she reads, her eyes getting bigger and bigger. Jo shot her head up and look at Peter with scary eyes. "Yes honey. Be afraid, very very afraid." Peter says. Jo went to Peter and hug him. They stay in that form till Jo settle down.
"Peter, I didn't know you are sure a figure." Peter smile. "That makes you a Baroness." "Yes, I'm a Baron in title. I'm also an 'unknown' grandson of a King. I reveal this to you because, Jo, will you marry me?" Jo's hands cover her mouth and there's tears in her eyes too. Jo nod her head and say YES with a big smile and started crying. No wonder Peter is a mystery person in all his dealings. Such secrets will definitely be a threat to many once reveal.
"My family secret must be kept. You do understand right?" Jo nodded. "Definitely. I agree to marry you not for your status, but because I love you."
Peter: "But our marriage can only materialised in 3 years time. Are you willing to wait?"
Jo: "Yes. Furthermore, there's so many things to do now. There's no time to get marry now."
Peter: "Thank you for understanding."
"So how are you going to counter react?" Peter ask.
Jo: "Give me 1 hour time to think. I have never come across such a thing before." Peter smile and guide her to the seat and sat next to her.
A buzz on the intercom sounded. "Boss, the enemy has started their plan A. She's now has placed traps around the house. And Lawrence has crippled all and relocated a distance from her house. No harm will come to her in that distance." "Ok."
Peter: "Jo, go back to the house and be normal. Leave the house with KPL on. From now on, KPL will not be off at all time. Entrance to the house by pressing the blue turquoise diamond once. Twice to turn on the KPL. Nobody must know the secret of the ring. One more thing, there's a GPS in the ring." No wonder there's 2 stone on the ring. Red ruby to shoot dart, blue for KPL. What a unique ring. "See you in 2 days time. If there's a need, you know where to find me."
Peter remain in the office while Jo went back up to the house. He was going through the pile of documents one by one. For each pile he finished reading and comes out with a plan, he have someone in charge of it. There are 25 piles and therefore 25 person take charge of it.
Peter's life is on the life line. There are people who found out that he is the brain behind the defense of the huge organization despite of his young age. The enemy has planted a mole to find out more of his defend plan but fail. They have been trying for 5 years, but nothing comes out of it. That's why the enemy change their plan and decided to end his life. If Peter is dead, the whole organization will crumble down. Therefore, Jo is determine to protect Peter and stay beside him to the end.
Jo got back to the house just in time for dinner. She went to Aunty Su's house to collect dinner for herself as well for the 10.
Jo: "Aunty Su, is the dinner ready?"
Aunty Su was nowhere insight. Jo search for her but still no sight of her. Jo went to her room to see, not there. She heard water sound in the bathroom, so she knocks on the door. The door opens, and Aunty Su was lying on the floor with blood oozing out of her chest. A knife was inserted there.
Jo scream. It so happens that the 10 also come to collect their dinner. Heard Jo scream and rush in. They couldn't find Jo, so they went upstairs to look. They found Jo standing outside the bathroom looking down at something, and her face expression was in shock. They went to open the door wider and glance inside, and was shock to see a dead body.
Dexter immediately call the police and the paramedics. Lucas removes Jo from the standing point and bring her downstairs to sit in the living room. Jo was shaking vigorously. Lucas went to search for a blanket to cover her and a glass of water to warm her. The 10 came down to the living room to wait for the police and paramedics. They accompany Jo and ask her what happened?
Jo: "I came to collect dinner for us. No sight of Aunty Su, so I searched for her. And... and..."
Dexter: "Jo, calm down. The police will handle." Dexter lay a hand on her right shoulder. Jo nodded her head and just drink the water given by Lucas.
An hour later, both police and paramedics vehicles arrived. The island people began to crowd outside Aunty Su's cottage and look. They are shock when they learned that Aunty Su has been murdered. Some ladies cry when they heard it. One lady in particular rush into the living room, her face was wet with tears and shouting Aunty Su's name. But a policeman prevents her from going upstairs. Aunty Yvonne has been her best friend during her stay in the island. She was devastated.
Jo came to her and hug her. She cries at the same time asking Jo "Is it true... Su is... is gone...!" Jo nodded and she cries even louder and keep on calling Aunty Su' name. Jo accompany her till the police inspector came downstairs follow by the paramedics carrying a stretcher with Aunty Su's dead body which was covered by a white cloth. Aunty Yvonne cries and wanted to go near but was stop by the policeman. The body was taken away by the paramedics, but the police are still in the premises. There are 2 police cars that came with the paramedics. 6 policeman and 1 investigator and his assistant. 6 policemen already began their work in asking questions among the people. Inspector and his assistant are the one in the living room.
Jo: "Inspector, can let Aunty Yvonne goes back to rest?"
Inspector: "Sorry, Miss, no one can leave till they are questioned." Jo nodded and stay with Aunty Yvonne.
Inspector: "I'm Inspector John, who is the one who found the body?"
Jo: "I."
Inspector: "What is your name?"
Jo: "Josephine Wei."
Inspector: "Why are you here and how did you found the body?"
Jo: "I came to collect dinner. I came in and couldn't find Aunty Su when she didn't respond to my calling. I search the whole ground floor still not insight. I thought maybe she's in her room, so I went up. I heard running water so I knocked on the bathroom door and the door just opened. Then I saw her on the floor with a knife inserted her chest."
Inspector: "What time is it?"
Jo: "We had our dinner at 6pm. I reached here about that time."
Inspector: "Who are you people here?" Inspector turn to the 10.
Jo: "They are here for the corporate meeting with my boss from different countries."
At that moment, a man in a business suit came in. "Hi Inspector John, long time no see!" The man says while entering into the room.
Inspector: "Indeed Lawyer Harry. You are back in town, staying for long?"
Lawyer: "You know me, I'm on vacation here for just 2 weeks everytime I'm back. This time the same."
Inspector: "Why are you here?"
Lawyer: "My client couldn't be here once he heard what happened, he called me to see what help can I offer."
Inspector: "Your client?"
Lawyer: "Mr Peter."
Upon hearing the name, Inspector's attitude change.
Inspector: "What has he got to do with this case?" Inspector ask politely.
Jo: "He is our boss, and this is his island."
Dextor: "I called him on the phone after I called the police and paramedics."
Lawyer: "That's why I'm here to help." He smile.
Inspector: "Where is he now?"
Lawyer: "His on his way back. I guess you can only see him tomorrow late afternoon. He wants me to tell you that he will be visiting you tomorrow to find out more about the case. Is there any more questions to ask here? Mr Peter wants his fiance to have a rest. She must be in shock."
Inspector: "Fiance?"
Jo face blush by the word. The 10 point the finger at Jo. The Lawyer turn to Jo and produce his name card to her "Miss Wei, I'm lawyer Harry, this is my card. Call me if you need any help. Mr Peter is rushing back, so at the moment, please have a good rest first. You will see him tomorrow afternoon when he returns. Leave the rest to me."
Jo nodded her head and thank him. 2 ladies and 5 men enter. Lawyer Wei introduce them.
Lawyer: "Miss Wei, they are your body guards. They will protect you till Mr Peter returns." He turn to the 10 and says: "Mr Peter has also arrange a group of bodyguards to protect you. You will find them outside this cottage to escot you wherever you go till you depart from the island."
The 10 let out their relief. They have been thinking will they be in danger the moment they saw the body. They nodded their head. Turning back to Inspector lawyer Harry says: "Let's wrap up here. All will be at the station tomorrow with Mr Peter. Ok?" He looks at Inspector. "Matthew, let's go." Inspector told him assistant and left the cottage. The rest already finished with the questioning and we're waiting for the Inspector. The two police cars sped away.
