The person in question turned towards Isori and spoke in a "matter-of-fact" tone.
"I don't need a CAD to cast magic." (Erik)
***
"Erik~" (Crowd)
"Yeah! Go First-High!" (Crowd)
"Woohoo!" (Crowd)
"Go go, Erik!" (Crowd)
"Show them, my King!" (Crowd)
"Kya! He is too damn handsome!" (Crowd)
"He looks so dashing in that white suit and black pants together with his golden-framed glasses!" (Crowd)
"Truly! Devilish handsome!" (Crowd)
The screams of the crowd were deafening!
The stands were completely packed with people!
It was the third day of the competition, the same day when Mari nearly suffered a fatal injury due to outside interference.
The [Team of Organizers] had decided to continue with the event scheduled for the day; heeding Erik's advice.
They had quickly provided the other teams with the time-slot details for the next event, [Pillar Break].
There were a few protests against continuing with the event due to the accident that took place in the morning but since no one was hurt; the protests were quickly lost momentum.
The committee only had to assure the people that no more such accidents would ever happen again and they were good to go.
Erik had decided not to use the rigged CAD and perform without it.
He stepped towards the floating platform which took him to the top of his tower.
He gracefully jumped off the platform and stood in the center of the high pillar.
The sun was shining just above him even though the majority of it was covered in clouds.
He looked at his opponent who seemed to be wearing a samurai costume.
Doggie Musha was his name, the one representing the [Fourth-High School] in the [Pillar Break] event.
He had a serious expression on his face as he glared at Erik, trying to intimidate him before the match begins.
Unfortunately for him, such tasteless tactics didn't work against an experienced duelist such as Erik.
The latter simply shook his head and chose to quietly observe his adversary.
*Beep!*
The sudden sound of metal gears shifting could be heard through the shouts of the crowd.
Another floating platform appeared further away from the contestants.
The organizer stood on the platform while holding a wireless mic in his hands.
"Attention participants!" (Organizer)
"Round 1 of the event, [Pillar Break] is about to begin!" (Organizer)
"There are 12-ice pillars each present in your respective columns, your goal is to demolish your opponent's pillars while protecting your own." (Organizer)
"Whoever can demolish their foe's pillars first will win or the person who has the highest number of the pillars still intact before the time runs out will be the winner!" (Organizer)
"You are not allowed to target your foe rather you must only use the magic on the pillars." (Organizer)
"Alright! Take your position!" (Organizer)
"3...2...1...begin!" (Organizer)
---
"I will win this!" (Doggie)
Musha let out a battle cry as he quickly activated his magic and started casting his spell.
A magic sequence appeared beneath the towers, covering the entirety of Erik's pillars.
"[Oscillation magic:-Sonic-Boom]"
(Doggie)
Suddenly out of nowhere, a mini-tremor spread throughout the arena and even shook the towers!
The particles of the ice pillar started to oscillate at a very high spread which resulted in the release of lots of kinetic energy in form of heat.
This heat further weakened the already damaged structure of the ice-molecules.
Therefore, small chunks of ice started to break off from Erik's ice-pillars.
"Yes!" (Doggie)
Musha clenched his fists in excitement as his magic had given him an advantage over his opponent.
And so, his self-confidence shot through the roof!
"I will defeat you!" (Doggie)
He had the burning desire to win within his eyes and he stared at Erik, waiting to see how will the latter respond?
Erik did not respond to his provocation but rather raised his hands in front of him.
He clasped his palms before performing a "pulling outwards" motion.
A strange energy wave spread throughout the arena as all the sound seemed to suddenly disappear.
Musha felt his perception of time slow down to 1/10th of a second as his eyes barely registered what was going on.
For him, the world seemed to have lost all color of a split second before regaining it, as a transparent green-colored sphere formed between Erik's palms.
The sphere looked more like a shell containing a peculiar green orb of energy which had a dangerous feeling to it.
Musha couldn't hear anything but he was able to read Erik's lips and make out his words.
"....Convergence-Type:-Eraser Blow?"
(Doggie)
Erik looked towards his opponent and mouthed something to Musha.
Deciphering the meaning behind his words, Musha's eyes widened in surprise which soon turned into horror.
"...It's over?" (Doggie)
Erik threw the transparent green sphere towards the 12-pillars in his enemy's territory.
His movement and magic didn't make a single sound.
Whereas an intense green light engulfed the towers as soon as the sphere reached the center; the light was blocking the view for others.
The blinding dome of green light maintained itself for a few seconds before it all disappeared as if it wasn't there at all.
The time perception for Musha resumed and returned to normal as he opened his eyes and hastily looked at the area beneath his tower.
Silence!
Pin-drop silence reigned of the stadium as everyone looked at Musha's area or what was left of it.
"N-No...th-this ca-can't be!" (Doggie)
All of his 12-pillars were destroyed whereas there was a huge crack on the surface of the area.

"Grandfather! Tha—!?" (Minoru)
"Yes, Minoru." (Elder Kudou)
"His Convergence-Type magic has somehow managed to reach the saturation point at such a young age." (Elder Kudou)
"It is a blessing that he doesn't need a CAD to calculate all that within seconds." (Elder Kudou)
"Currently, he is as strong as an [Apostle] or maybe even stronger!" (Elder Kudou)
"Such a frightening young man!" (Elder Kudou)
"Senior Erik is just too talented in using [Covergence-Type Magic] and it is really ridiculous?" (Minoru)
"He has come so far!..." (Elder Kudou)
"I can't even judge the magic at his level, anymore." (Elder Kudou)
