Paskha watched the way Sir Clove laid Sharleen sleeping on the white bed in the dormitory's infirmary. He knew Sir Clove was fond of children, but he never expected the older man to have such a soft side.
He recalled that the old man had picked him up and settled him on that older man's shoulder when he fainted—Sir Clove treated him carelessly as if he were a bag of rice.
He couldn't understand why Sir Clove's treatment had never been as gentle as when the man did to other kids. Sir Clove would give him twice as much work as his friends and memorize the book on how to open three basic points, six main points, and eight meridian points earlier than his school friends.
Even when he was the man's direct disciple, Sir Clove rarely gave him a break, and the training was terrifying and drained all of his energy.
Well… in the end, thanks to the harsh training, Paskha became a golden general at twenty-two. In fact… he was the youngest Golden General ever appointed by any king.
Even though Sir Clove treated him differently, Paskha was never green in envy of his friends. It was precisely because Sir Clove's indifferent yet protective treatment made him feel that the man considered him as his son.
"Brat, you are daydreaming again."
Paskha gave his teacher an innocent smile and then looked at Sharleen worriedly. "Sir Clove, she's really all right, isn't she?"
"She will be fine," he answered briefly before lightly flicking Paskha's forehead. "If you're so worried about her, why did you let her force herself?"
Paskha rubbed his stinging forehead with one hand. Even though the teacher's finger flick was light, it still hurt his physical body.
"This is indeed my fault, and I should have paid more attention to her."
"It's good that you know your mistake. But… how do you control your soul force? I haven't taught it to you at school."
"Sir Clove, you noticed it?"
"You are my student and foster child. If I don't notice it, I don't deserve to be called Sir Clove."
Little Paskha smiled a little upon hearing that. In truth, he was asking on purpose because his brain wanted to have time to come up with a reasonable answer. Even if it was only for a few seconds, it was enough to find the right answer without making it look like he was lying or inviting suspicion.
"Have you forgotten you told me to read a cultivator's three manuals? One of them explained how to control the soul force flowing within our bodies."
Just as Paskha had expected, Sir Clove immediately believed him. That's because the man always told him to read the books ahead of his classmates. As he said earlier, Sir Clove made little Paskha learn two to one step ahead of his friends.
Does this make his friends jealous? Of course not. Who would want to read a tome of three books? Only Paskhawas was enthusiastic and eager to read all the books in the library.
Even back then, Paskha had big ambitions and unshakable goals, even from childhood. Not surprisingly, Paskha could become a golden general at such a young age.
"I can see that. And you just put it into practice? Why did you decide to do a three-hour morning practice run? Is it because you want to open all three foundation points simultaneously?"
Sir Clove was excellent... he could immediately know the purpose of training his physical body. "Yes! I've read that if one is able to open three basic points at once, then his ability to absorb airborne mana is faster and greater."
Sir Clove nodded in satisfaction at this. "It is true. But so far, no one has been able to open all three at once, and in these hundred years, only three people have managed to do it."
Paskha knows that opening three basic points at once without a break is not something easy to do. The ideal age for unlocking the base point was after performing the emergence ritual.
Someone could have unlocked it at the age of nine or ten, but the effect of opening the point would be much less than when opening it at the age of seven.
Paskha still remembered that Sir Clove and Lord Gale were the only ones to do it, and they did it in less than two weeks. Then who was the third person that Sir Clove was referring to?
"Sir Clove, who has managed to unlock three foundation points at once?"
"Take a guess."
The corner of Pasha's lips twitched at this. Is his teacher testing the limits of his insight? "My guess is you, as well as General Gold, Lord Gale. But I can't guess the third person."
Sir Clove patted Paskha once on the top of his head and laughed. "Correct. Two of them are Lord Gale and me. You won't be able to guess the third person because this person is much older than us, and you've never heard of his name."
"So this person is not well-known?" Generally speaking, people who could unlock three foundational points at once would instantly become famous.
"You will meet him when you become an official disciple of immortal cultivation."
Paskha gasped in surprise to hear this. "Could it be that he… he is following immortal cultivation training?"
"Exactly. That's why not many people know his name."
No wonder Paskha had never met this third person in his previous life. It turned out this remarkable third person was not only much more senior than Clove and Gale but also followed immortal path cultivation.
"I've decided. I shall unlock these three points at once successfully."
Sir Clove did not expect this overconfident remark that come out of the mouth of his favorite student. Why did the discussion about three people who managed to unlock three points at the same time make Paskha even more determined?
This kid is really something.
