Kapitel 43: The Chase

"If I could ask… what kind of new life do you want?"

What kind of new life did she want? Edna thought for a moment as she sat on her bed. She didn't know for sure. She planned to sell all the jewelry to buy a house and a farm, then worked hard because she could do anything; Gardening, taking care of horses and doing all household chores, including managing finances.

Edna wasn't illiterate. She could read, write, and count. It would be good if she had the opportunity to work as a teacher. Then… perhaps she would meet an average man, fall in love, have two kids, and live a quiet old age?

Edna didn't know ... That was just a rough picture she had longed for all this time. She didn't want something that drained her emotions. She was tired of all the pressure she faced at the Westfall residence.

"Maybe work like everyone else, meet someone I love, and build a simple family," Edna answered briefly.

The simple answer was enough for Luca.

"And what kind of job do you want?"
