Kapitel 42: Whispers in the Dark

Avery's head palpitated as understanding slowly returned. The world around her became clear, exposing a dimly lit chamber without windows, She attempted to move, only to find her wrists and ankles securely bound to a president.

"Drink back," a familiar voice remarked loudly.

Avery's gaze shifted to the corner of the room, where Professor Russo sat quietly watching her.

"Where am I?" Avery demanded in a gruff voice. "Where are the others?"

Elena leaned forward as she soughed."They're safe for now but, Avery, we need to discuss what happened back there. What you did. This should not be feasible."

Memories flooded back the cabin, Damien's treason, and that strange surge of power she felt just before bartering out Avery's heart thumped as she realized she had no idea what she was capable of.
