"Cut the crap,'' Lu Xian looked at the woman with an undisguised threat in his eyes.
The woman raised her hand and waved at him lightly, ''We will meet again, Mr. Lu.''
...
When Daisy opened her eyes, she was greeted by the sight of unfamiliar walls. A beautiful glass chandelier was hanging in the middle of the ceiling, showering the room with a warm glow.
She had not lied when she told Ryle that she was tired. The moment she stepped inside Ryle's car, she was feeling more drowsy. While he drove in silence, she just dozed off in the passenger seat.
''You are awake.''
Daisy's head snapped to the side and she found Ryle sitting on the couch with a file in his hand.
Daisy nodded, ''What's the time?"
''A few minutes past midnight. You can go back to sleep again. You still have to go to work tomorrow,'' Ryle said and took his attention back to the file in his hand.
