Kapitel 37: Interview

The next day, Whitney work up as usual and headed to school. She had just gotten to the school when she got a message from Smart cooperation.

Whitney looked at the message and found it hard to believe. She was indeed messing around when she sent an application. She did not expect them to invite her for an interview. The shocking part was that the interview was that same day by ten. Whitney looked at the time. It was already a few minutes after eight. "Why would they only send an invite today?" Whitney wondered. She wanted to ignore the message, perhaps it was a scam, but she was scared that this was her chance to meet the devil and possibly save her siblings.

"Whitney," Jonathan called out. When she turned around, she saw that he had just come out of his Car. "Good morning," She Smiled.

"Good morning. I have been calling you for quite some time, is everything okay?" Jonathan asked. He had seen her as soon as he drove in. He had called her three or four times before she answered.

Whitney wanted to shake her head, but she opened her mouth and told him about the message." Then it would be best if you went, " Jonathan said. He did not find it strange that she got a late notice. He felt that Samantha must have done this deliberately to make things difficult for her.

Whitney looked at her casual outfit, "I can't go like this?" she said. Jonathan looked at her and nodded his head. She was wearing a pair of Jeans and a t-shirt. It would really not be suitable for her to go for an interview dressed like that.

"Then get in the car. I would drive you home to change," He made a decision. Whitney hesitated. She would be late. After all, it was almost two hours drive from her home to Smart cooperation, and if she had to go home, then she would be over an hour late.

"I would not make it in time," Whitney shook her head.

Jonathan also thought so. He was angry at himself. He did not expect that his attempt to help would only create problems for her. He had no doubts in his heart that Samantha was responsible. He had seen her bully any lady that tried to get close to him. Before now, he did not pay attention as it helped him avoid unwanted attention, but it was different when it came to Whitney.

"How about we stop at a shop and get you a change of clothes? This would save time, and you might still be able to make it," Jonathan suggested. He felt responsible for her situation, so he wanted to help.

"Right," Whitney said. She had a little cash with her. If she could get a dress with and change of shoes, she would look more formal.

"Then I would go ahead," Whitney said. She remembered a small market a few minutes away from the bus station. She would be able to get cheap clothes to buy.

"I will drop you," Jonathan said. He knew that she would have to walk, money was something Whitney lacked, but he did not want to embarrass her by offering her money.

"No, there is no need. Class starts by eight thirty," She reminds him. How could she let him miss class because of her?

"Don't worry, I will send a message to the professor to take permission for both of us. This is my fault, I am sure Samantha targeted you because of me," Jonathan said. When Whitney heard this, she remembered the warning from Randy the previous day.

"Thank you," Whitney said. She knew that a car would be faster and would give her a chance to get to the interview on time. Since he was willing to help, she would be a fool to reject him.

Whitney directed him, and they soon arrived at the small market. Looking at the small stalls of clothes and other goods, Jonathan could tell that many goods here would be cheap.

He had never been to such a place before, he was born into a wealthy, and most of the things he used were branded. He wanted to offer to buy her clothes, but he stopped himself. He did not want to embarrass her but was worried that those clothes should not be worn before they were washed.

"Thank you," Whitney said as she got ready to climb down from the car. "I will wait for you and send you to Smart cooperation. The distance between smart cooperation and the bus station is far. Not only would it take much time to walk, but you would also sweat. First impressions matter a lot," Jonathan said.

"Don't worry, I will take a cab," Whitney lied. She could not let him continue to help her. She was already going to buy clothes which were not on her budget. She would definitely not take s cab and spend more money.

"Then I would be your cab driver, stop wasting time and go," Jonathan said and unlocked the car. Whitney wanted to slap herself, but she knew he was right; this was her chance, and she could not miss it.

She hurried into the first stall but could not find anything suitable in her size. She quickly walked to the next booth, but the result was the same. Fortunately, at the third stall, she saw a pair of matching dresses and a blazer. It was her size. Whitney immediately picked the two. "How much is this peer," She asked the woman in the stall.

"It's two thousand five hundred," The woman said.

"That's too much. I will give you eight hundred," Whitney said. When the woman heard this, she did not get angry. "This is a good quality material customer. I would take two thousand because you are a young girl," The woman said with a friendly smile.

"I will pay nine hundred," Whitney replied. If she had not been in a hurry, she would have insisted on eight hundred. After all, she could check other stalls, but time was something she did not have. "Customer, you are so young, yet you can bargain so much. I will take a thousand five hundred. Nothing less," The woman said.

When Whitney heard this, she immediately put down the clothes. There were only two thousand with her. She still had to get suitable shoes. She could not afford the clothes. When the lady saw her action, she did not say anything. Seeing this, Whitney decided to leave. Although she did not have time, she really did not dare to buy the clothes.

The quality was indeed presentable, but she could not afford it. Jonathan, who stood by the side, was surprised. He had found a place to pack his car and followed her. When the lady said two thousand five hundred, he was amazed. The cheapest shit in his wardrobe is worth at least thirty thousand. He did not expect clothes to be so cheap.

What surprised him more was the fact that Whitney had still bargained for eight hundred. When he saw that she was going to leave, he decided to walk over and buy it. He would loan her the money first.

He believes that as long as he tells her it was a loan, she will not regret him. But when he took the first step, he heard the woman call out to Whitney, who was already walking to the next stall.

"Customer, wait, I will sell it for nine hundred, only because I hope you can visit my stall next time," the woman said. She felt it was a pity that Whitney was good at bargaining at a young age.

"Okay," Whitney counted the money and handed it over. She regrets not sticking to eight hundred. After ensuring that the money was complete, the woman packaged the clothes and handed them over to her.

Whitney thanked the woman and immediately looked for a shoe stall. This time, Whitney was only concern about size and colour.

Very soon, she saw a pair of black heels. The heels were just one centimetre high. From the look, she could tell that it was no longer news. "How much those this cost?" Whitney asked. The human-sized Whitney, seeing her clothes, he knew there was no need to increase the price.

"A thousand," The man said.

"These shoes are no longer new. I will give you five hundred," Whitney replied.

"The price is seven hundred," the man said.

"Five hundred," Whitney wanted to try her luck, but the man shook his head. She pretended to leave just like she did at the first shop, but the man did not call her back. Thinking that the price was within her expectations, Whitney returned to buy the shoes. After paying, she walked over to the public toilet, paid the lady the fee and stepped inside.

She quickly changed her clothes and shoes and got out. She had gotten a red handless dress with a black blazer that had a touch of red. After changing into her new outfit, Whitney hurried back to Jonathan
