"Darling! Don't stress the children! Smile, will you?" Queen Katheran nudged the King with her elbow and hinted with her eyes that the King should be nicer to me.
The King glanced at Queen Katheran and then gave me a cold smile. I suddenly felt a chill run down my spine. The feeling of unease grew stronger.
Queen Katheran glared at the old King, who retracted his cold smile. Instead, he turned his head to the dancer in front of him. His eyes were still cold.
"Father, please allow us to leave first!" Ian sounded slightly displeased, and he took my hand and returned to his seat.
As soon as we sat down, a footman hurried to Ian's side and whispered something in his ear. I saw Ian frown before saying to me, "I need to leave for a while. I'll be back soon!" Ian kissed me on the forehead and left with the footman.
