Kapitel 6: Chapter 6

Narrator POV:

The two children were sitting down and drinking tea, nobles often had tea parties. As such, children were taught on how to drink tea in a way that befit them. Things like posture and even how long they should sip their tea for were taught. The richer nobles were given samples of different teas so they could differentiate between what kind of tea they were given, and give compliments on the tea accordingly. Of course every noble had their own preference in tea, so during tea parties there was always a selection if brews to choose from.

Despite that, the two children were both drinking regular tea. Of course the leaves were of the highest quality, you couldn't have the heirs to such influential houses drink something you'd buy from a regular store.

The two children exchanged simple pleasantries, the children both smiled amicably towards one another. A maid opened the door and brought in a tray of cakes and other sweets. She looked at the children in a daze, seemingly shocked by how cute they looked, both of them were smiling and with how they looked she couldn't help but be shocked.

The maid didn't know this but, the children weren't truly smiling. Smiling meant being able to show your emotions, it meant letting your guard down infront of someone. And neither child was willing to do that yet, despite the interest Angelica had she would never let her own greed and curiosity get ahead of her.

And Reinhardt was a person who had been trained to become as perfect as humanly possible. Making it looked like he cared was but a simple task.

But the maid was completely oblivious to that, and smiled knowingly at the children when she didn't know a thing.

Angelica set her teacup down, and spoke.

"It's rather nice having a friend to talk to like this, in terms of status your roughly equal to me so I we can talk comfortably. It's quite enjoyable for me."

Angelica always wore a mask, she had to show everyone that she was a perfect being. She was regarded as 'The Flawless Angel Of The Empire' , she had to live up to that title. And she did, but it left her rather isolated. She wanted to meet someone who she didn't have to wear a mask infront of, and although Reinhardt was not a person whom she could fully trust.

She wanted to believe that he would become her friend at some point. Her rational mind told her not to get ahead of herself, but her heart wanted to allow itself to hope.

She decided to use the term 'friend' when she spoke earlier, this was to close the gap between them. Because even if he didn't become someone who she could take her mask off when she was with. Reinhardt would become a leading figure in the empire when he grew up, the Empire would likely face some instability if they lost the power of the Avalons.

The Avalons were a mostly militaristic house and the soldiers of the Empire looked up to the current Archduke who was said to be an exemplary Knight. His mere existence sired the morale and loyalty of soldiers, of course the Godharts were the same, but the Avalons were a militaristic house so they had more influence in the military.

But even with her being the imperial princess, she was still a child, even if she was a little strange she still wanted a friend. And she worded her sentence like that so that Reinhardt would give her a direct reply. And even if he didn't, he couldn't just say that they weren't friends due to the close ties between their houses.

So he'd either be forced to accept and then the two of them could become friends or he'd just be her friend straight away. Angelica would likely struggle to make real friends, but she would have a lot of time with Reinhardt and that would mean that he could become her first real friend.

He didn't have a real human heart though, but she found that interesting, so in her eyes, he was the best candidate for a friend that she could find.

Reinhardt POV:

I understand her thought process, she wants to force me into a position where I can't deny our friendship. Since I can't come off as rude to the imperial princess, I'd have to accept her words and say that we were friends.

I didn't expect a child to be this smart, but it wasn't something that was unheard of. After all, back in my old world, my mind was considered one of the best.

I ranked number two among 'The Seven Paragons' we were all incredible, although we all didn't specialise in combat we would far outclass any normal person. The Seven Paragons were the seven people who managed to survive the program. Each of us were at least as smart as Angelica.

So, although I didn't expect her to be this smart, she's not someone I can't handle.

"Friend? That's a rather presumptious statement is it not? However, I believe that with time we can become friends."

What I was saying was true, she was someone who I could definitely become friends with. And because of that, it wouldn't be counted as a lie. This was an advantageous situation, it was a situation that I was the one in control. I would be the one to decide if we became friends or not.

Although I wouldn't be able to use her that well since she has the entity known as Kevin Godhart watching over her, I'd still be able to manipulate her to some extent. However my influence over her would be far lower than my influence over Lillian.

Another maid came in, Angelica smiled at the maid. It was a genuine smile, that maid was someone important to her but I didn't who she was. The maid bowed respectfully bowed down to the both of us, she walked over to Angelica and whispered something into her ear. Angelica nodded and spoke to me,

"My father, the emperor wishes to have a meeting with you as the time for our little meeting is nearing its end."

I nodded politely at her words and places my tea cup down on the table for a maid to clear away later on. A maid guided me to a separate room, I entered the room. It was the Emperor's office, it looked rather modern and it was somewhat lackluster for someone who was the ruler of an entire nation. I looked at the golden haired man infront of me and knelt, my body instinctively knew that it was looking at something that wasn't entirely human.

My father usually hid his presence from me, probably to stop something like this from happening. But the Emperor didn't do that, although he wasn't releasing any pressure, the amount of Mana he possessed was enough to make me kneel. And he was no regular Mana Class 2 mage, but a bearer of the Angel's bloodline.

If I wasn't a Paragon, I'd have felt fear, but I just looked at him with a deadpan expression...
