Kapitel 52: Chapter 52: Love Hurts Sometimes

After the shock of seeing Evan standing in front of her, Jane didn't know how to act.

Would Chloe like to see him?

After all the stress that day brought, Jane feared that that visit would not do her daughter any good.

“Evan, Chloe is resting.”

“Don’t lie to me, Jane. I know she was in the hospital.” he was impatient.

The middle-aged woman widened her eyes.

“H-How do you know?” her voice faltered.

“It doesn’t matter. I just wanna see her. May I come in?”

Jane was speechless with Evan's intimidating stance. After everything he had done for that family, she couldn't deny such a request.

“Yes, please.”

He entered the house, feeling anxious.

Without saying another word, Jane guided him to her daughter's room. After knocking on the door, she heard Chloe's weak voice.

“Come in.”

Jane opened the door cautiously, afraid of her daughter's reaction.

“Someone is here to visit you, darling.”
