Kapitel 9: His Personal Life

Bella slept peacefully, curled up on the edge side of her bed, her breathing was slow and soft and she looked extraordinarily breath taking.

There was barely any signs that she cried her self to sleep the previous night and as usual, her room door was left slightly open even though she never went to bed leaving it that way.

" You Slept At An Hotel?", Kathy, Bella's mom shrieked in a high pitched tone while Bella immediately woke up in shock falling off the edge of her bed and straight on the floor with a small thud. She frowned and twisted her face in pain as realization dawned on her. How she disliked that shrieking voice so much.

" What did you expect? That I should sleep in the living room without any blankets or comfortable bed? Please Katherine you are just going too far, besides it was my money I used in booking an hotel, not yours", Joey said his grey eyes glaring daggers as he walked past Katherine who stood in front of their bedroom door.

" Joey no no no", Kathy quickly followed him in, as usual she was dressed in her office outfit ready to leave for work, the woman was a born workaholic.

" You don't get to sleep in this room or any of the guest rooms until you fix the bulb in the hallways or at least call an electrician to fix it. The hallway is always dark and it's never right, someone could seriously trip", She pointed out but he just paid no attention as he threw a towel over his shoulder and walked into the bathroom.

" Joey Im not kidding I can't do two things at a time, I can't stress myself at work and stress at home as .....", the rest of the words said by Kathy went unheard as Bella shut her room door hoping to shut herself out of the noise outside.

Just as she walked away from the door, her alarm turned on and she glared at it just immediately. She angrily walked over to it and picked it up staring at it for a while, she directed all the anger she was feeling towards her parents this morning to the clock and angrily threw it over the wall.

It fell to the floor with a crack sound and the tune stopped, she didn't need an alarm if she had parents like them.

Lunch period was always Justin's favorite part of school. Not because he could eat at that very moment because truth be told he wasn't a foodie. It was because that was the only spare time he got to focus on his journal, writing down his usuals.

The things he wrote in here were pretty personal, personal in the form that it was his life story. Ever since the day he made the decision to isolate himself from the everyone, he had also started writing a journal about each day and soon he added his own imaginations to it.

Imaginations of things he wanted to do so badly but knew that due to his condition he wouldn't be able to.

If you asked him, he wasn't really sure about his future, he wasn't sure if his fourth surgery was going to be his last surgery ever or the one that finally claims his life.

He looked up from his journal deep in thoughts. Annabella hadn't come screaming his name and mauling at him yet for his purposely committed sin, does this mean he was in more trouble or was she the forgiving and confront silently type. He just kept staring into space not knowing what to do about his situation.

He always sat here for a reason, this seat gave a very good view of the entire cafeteria and whenever he sat here, he sort of became Invisible to the outside world while the voices of talking students filled his ears.

He picked up a fry from his tray and smiled sheepishly at how long it was. He threw it quickly into his mouth as he listened to the song coming from his air pods and once again focused on his journal. Hip hop was his favorite and he always needed it to help him keep his writing on track.

He felt his one man table being occupied by someone and he frowned. She was here again, doesn't his little sister get it? He doesn't want her companionship, he doesn't want her love or affection, he doesn't want her to have hopes for him, he doesn't want her care, he just doesn't want anything. Being all by himself was quite enough for him.

He decided to focus on his journal like he always did and pretend that she wasn't there, waiting for her to say something.

Her perfume today was different from other days and she was being awfully quiet. He didn't want to look up and show that he cared to know why she was quiet but as the minutes went by and she didn't start blabbing on like she used to, he couldn't resist looking up.

His black eyes raised slowly till they found themselves staring straight at beautiful grey orbs instead of the usual chocolate ones he was used to. " You?", he called out in a surprised manner as he dropped the pen on his left hand absent mindedly on the desk.

" Yes me", Bella responded with a smile on her face. " I'm glad you still recognise me", she said harshly as she ate out of her tray ever so casually like this was never the first time she had sat with him.

Bella wasn't nervous, she wasn't the one who wronged someone so why should she be nervous. She had actually waited all through classes to watch this guy come out of his hiding and apologize to her but he seemed less concerned.

" Look about yesterday", he started off and she let her grey eyes rest on his unsympathetic blank looking face. " I did tell you that you didn't need a partner and one like me is seriously not a good fit", he said staring at anywhere but her eyes. He might just show emotions if he stared at those eyes, he wouldn't be able to control his thoughts if he stared at them.

" So what you mean is I shouldn't have trusted you and I should have just let you be because you warned me and there is no apology about keeping me waiting whatsoever?", she asked a bit annoyed at his arrogant attitude.

" I didn't keep you waiting Annabella because you could have left on your own accord when you saw that I wouldn't come but yet you stayed back", Justin said bluntly as he returned back to writing on his journal even though he was already losing concentration.

Bella stared at him wide eyed not believing he just said that to her. She had waited considering the fact that he might show up out of the blue or call, she had waited because that was what friends do but he wasn't her friend was he? He was just some jerk of a guy.

" You know I should be really angry with you because you are not owning up to your mistakes but..", she said drawing her words as she stood up from the chair, screeching it on the floor and almost half of the population in the cafeteria turned towards them before turning their eyes away.

" I'm not going to be angry. You don't want to be my partner right?", she asked staring straight at his eyes holding his gaze for a long time before he dropped it and stared at his tray, throwing a French fry into his mouth

" Us being partners would do you no good Annabella", he scoffed out loud and returned back to writing as he saw her pick up her tray from the corner of his eyes.

" Very well then, enjoy your lunch Justin because this conversation isn't over, you don't make decisions for me and like it or not, you are stuck as my partner till Friday", she said softly and he looked up at her. The noisy hall made her voice barely audible but being within her reach, he heard her very clearly.

She winked at him and his lips slightly parted at that daring gesture. What did she mean? Was she not deterred at all? Are they still partners? Is she being real right now
