Kapitel 558: You are not a superhero

As Sebastian entered her room, he was met with the sight of his daughter peacefully sleeping in her bed. He approached her bedside, his movements slow and deliberate, and gently brushed his fingers against the back of her hand.

As he looked upon his daughter, his emotions got the better of him, and his eyes welled up with tears. She and her child were safe, which gave him a great deal of relief, but he also felt terrible guilt for putting her in such danger. If anything had happened to her, he knew he would have had a difficult time facing his wife.

Sebastian's eyes welled up with emotion as he approached Abigail's bedside. Gently, he brushed the back of her hand with his fingertips, the tenderness in his touch reflecting his love and concern for his daughter.

"I am sorry, Barbe," he murmured. "You have to go through all this. Papa failed to keep you safe." He fought to hold back tears as he gently squeezed her hand, feeling the weight of his responsibility.
