Kapitel 32: Packing!!!
Without waiting for him to respond,
" lets go its already late. I don't think you have packed. Come i will help you pack your things."
Saying this she quickly got out of the car and rushed inside.
"XiaoXi what happened child, you seem to be in a hurry."-asked Mother Li.
Stopping in her tracks, she turned towards mother Li " nothing mom, i am just going to freshen up." and ran upstairs.
Finding her behaviour weird, mother li squinted her eyes at Li Jie who had in hands in his pockets and was looking at Zhang XiaoXi running like a rabbit.
"What did you do? Why is my daughter behaving so weird? Jie how many times should i tell you not to bully-"
Cutting mother Li off, Li Jie sighed "mom, i am going on a business trip tomorrow . I just told her the same thing."
"You-y-how can you go on a trip right after you get married? Wasn't everything okay when you are leaving in the evening. How come you suddenly have a trip planned."-snapped mother Li
Pointing at her husband,
"Its all your fault. You shouldn't have handed over the company to him. Now look, what happened."
Looking at mother Li, father Li shook his head and said to Li Jie" i will take care of your mother, you go and talk to Xiaoxi, she must be upset."
"What upset? If i have been in her place, i would cry my eyes out. Who in the world leaves their wife for a stupid trip right after getting married"-shouted mother Li looking at Li Jie who was going upstairs.
"Honey,calm down let him deal with it. Its not like he is doing this purposely. He had this trip planned long back. We all knew it. Don't blame him. You have to understand that it is equally hard for him. You are making it even harder."- father Li coaxed Mother Li.
"Y-y-you"- mother Li who could not rebuke her husband words sighed in disappointment.
Upstairs:
When Li Jie entered the room, zhang XiaoXi was in the bathroom.
Looking at the bathroom door that was shut Li Jie felt his heart paining.
He saw the pain in her eyes when she said that he doesn't have to explain.
The way she forced herself to smile even though she is sad, made his heart bleed.
Which wife would want her husband to go away from her. That too right after their marriage until and unless she dislikes him.
Even thought their marriage is a rushed one, they both had a companion who can understand them.
They had a talk that they are gonna support each other from now and lead a good life and now he is going away and that too for more than a month.
Inside the washroom:
Looking at herself in the mirror, zhang Xiaoxi took a deep breath to calm herself.
" its not like he is divorcing you. He is just going on a trip. He will come back. Zhang Xiaoxi stop over reacting. You are making everything awkward.
What will he think if you cling to him like this right after your marriage. Stay strong and help him pack."
"Arghh why the hell should he tell me all those sweet words and then *boom* drop a bomb saying that he is going in a trip."
"Alright, take a deep breath, you can
do this. Fighting."- fisting her hands in the air, she adjusted herself and came out with much confidence that she can send him smiling.
As soon as she opened the bathroom door, she was greeted with Li Jie who was sitting on the bed with his head bowed and lost in thoughts. She shut the door of the bathroom and started walking towards him
When he heard the door sound, Li Jie lifted his head and looked into her eyes while she was walking to him.
Without thinking anything, he held her hand, pulled her towards him and hugged her tight.
Zhang XiaoXi who was all prepped to be strong was no more strong when he hugged her.
All her confidence came crushing down. She couldn't help but hug him tight.
Both of them don't know what to speak. They had lot to tell but could not find words to express.
If it was up to him, Li Jie would want to cancel the trip and stay with her 24*7. But it was not up to him. Even if it was, its already late.
He just didn't want him little wife to be upset nor he wants the employees whose life depends on their daily work to be disappointed.
For the first time in his life, Li jie who has solution for everything could not find a solution for this.
Zhang XiaoXi who still doesn't want to let go of him, pulled herself together, took a deep breath and broke the hug.
Looking at him, she cupped his cheeks "Li Jie, its getting late, lets pack your bags okay. We can talk after you are done packing. "
Holding her hands that were on his cheeks, Li jie looked into her eyes and sighed nodding his head.
Taking out the suitcase, he spread it on the bed.
He started to bring out his clothes from his closet and lay them on the bed.
zhang Xiaoxi sat on the bed and helped him fold his clothes and put them in the suitcase neatly.
After packing everything he need, she looked at him and was about to speak when he put his index finger on her lips to stop her from speaking
