He peeked his head out but other than the sound of the wind blowing through the passages the entire place was silent.

In cautious slow steps, Yi Chen walked out of the door and as expected there was nothing. If it weren't for the cracks and dents in the walls he would have thought that those creatures were his own imagination.

He raised his wrist to check the detector. His vision was slightly blurred but that didn't stop him. Using the walls of the passage for support he slowly walked over. 

Because he was in excruciating pain he had to take short rests thus it took him a much longer time to get to the device.

His bloodied hand touched the passageway wall leaving behind a distinct palm print before he entered the kitchen. Before he could take a step forward the cold muzzle of a lock-on handgun pressed on his temple.
