The moonlight shining down seemed to pave the figure of the wolf in a golden light that looked surreal. I felt Prince Leonard stiffen at my side and realized that he must have seen the wolf as well. As if guided by instinct, my feet raced forward when the animal headed into the forest.
My sense of fear left me and in its place was a sense of desperation and curiosity. My instinct told me that if I followed the wolf, I would find all the answers that I had been looking for regarding my childhood and my parents.
Even though it was dark it felt like the path was clearly lit for me. My leg stopped shaking and I found myself running as fast as I could to make sure that I didn't lose sight of the wolf.
