Later that day, I was the first person to hand over my assignment, which wasn’t all that surprising. But what didn’t sit right with me was the dirty looks I got from my classmates who had yet to complete their work.

"Alright, I'll give you all till noon tomorrow to turn in your assignment. Failure to do that would leave me with no other than to have you all in detention," the teacher said now.

Judging from the look on her face and the tone of her voice, I knew that she was angry because this assignment was due today. I had earlier gone to submit the assignment to the teacher’s office, just so I didn’t get these looks of hatred from my classmates, but she had refused, saying I should wait for the day of submission.

"Only Lilac has turned in her assignment on time as usual, so my dear, I commend you for that." she said, smiling at me.
