“So what’s up between you and Mr. Popular?” Dani wiggled her eyebrows at me as we found an empty seat at the cafeteria. “The two of you seemed pretty comfy with each other yesterday…”

Yesterday? Was it only just yesterday that Liam and the three of us went to the Fair? Why did it feel like an eternity ago?

“Liam and I agreed to be friends.” I told her, my lips curving into the tiniest of smiles. “I guess.”

“You guess? Friends?” Dani sighed. “It looked like he was ready to take you out on a date already.”

“Liam?” I felt my eyes widen in surprise. “God no! Like you said, he’s pretty popular. He can date anyone he wants. Why would he choose me?”

“Well, for starters, because you’re gorgeous!” Dani said it like she was stating the obvious. “And just because you-know-who is biased towards you, doesn’t mean every single man in the pack has turned blind! Seriously, Lily! Go look in a mirror!”
