66.66% The Adventurer's Guild Master / Chapter 6: Missions

Kapitel 6: Missions

"First, about the mission. I'd like to adventurer's guild to collect 1000 frost grass, 1000 yellow-spotted leaves along with about 200 of five other special herbs." Started the man as he gave the name and amount of herbs he wanted to collect. "The first two herbs are found north of the city at about three hours of walk in the Trider forest. The others are all found in the surroundings of the capital." He continued as he pointed to the approximate location of the herbs.

"How much would you pay for each type of herbs?" Asked Lux as Hazel wrote the total amount of herbs, location and was waiting for the full price.

"Well, how about three bronze coins for each herb? I'd offer a total of 90 silver coins for all the 3000 herbs to collect." He answered while taking out the coins from his pouch.

"How about the time offered for the completion of the mission?" He continued to ask as Hazel continued writing both the task list and the contract.

"I'll need the herbs within three days if it's possible?" He finished the sentence with a question as he lifted an eyebrow and looked at Lux, who nodded.

"Sure, I'll have the deadline of three days on the task. I propose putting tasks for every twenty herbs collected, and the adventurers will be allowed to take multiple of the same tasks simultaneously. This way, it will give more adventurers the work which will speed up the task speed." He offered as he was finalizing the contract.

"Sure, you're the one who knows it best. As long as I get all the herbs within three days, I'll have no problem." He nodded as he took the contract that Hazel finished, read it and signed on both copies.

"Now, I would like to inquire whether I can put my potions for sell on your third floor." He continued to the second order of business.

"It was indeed in my plans to have products from other merchants linked with adventuring sell their items in the shop. However, before this, I would have to verify the quality of the product and the price you would sell it. Moreover, the guild would take a 10% fee for everything sold since we would be responsible if someone broke a potion and for the payment of the employees." Explained Lux as he saw from afar that some dressed-up civilians were already starting to line up at the door after Aysha and Kira brought one inside for the interview.

"How about 8%?" He asked with a smile as his businessman talent took over only to fail.

"Hum, no. I'm not a businessman myself. When I said 10%, I meant 10% was the minimum we would accept. After all, it's an adventurer's guild, and they are certainly not the most careful. I would expect at least a few potions bottles from being destroyed each day, and the 10% is to guarantee that I don't make a loss." He answered with a smile as he really couldn't go below it.

With an awkward expression on his face, he thought for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. "Well, it doesn't matter. My potions will certainly sell a lot better here than in my small shop. Since my potions are made especially for explorers and now adventurers, I'll make a higher profit by selling them where all the adventurers gather. So, I'll accept the 10%. Here are my potions." He answered before taking out a few different potions and handing them over to Lux, who took out the stoppers of the flasks and smelled them one after another while Hazel made a quick analysis of the potions.

[The healing potions shown are effective for healing cuts and bruises. The antidotes will work on the poison of any monsters F rank and below, and the mana potions will slowly recover the mage's mana for one minute. It is potent enough to replenish about half of an E-rank mage adventurer's mana. There is no problem drinking multiple potions at a time except that the effect will be reduced by 25% if taken within 10 minutes of the previous brew.]. She explained as she effectively discovered the limitations of the potions.

"Alright, how much do you want to sell them?" Asked the guild master to the potion shop owner, who was surprised by Hazel and that she could instantly discover the limits of his potions.

"May I ask who was the person who just replied to you?" Asked the man as he had never heard of someone who could detect the efficacity of a potion without even being present physically.

"Yes, she is the adventurer's system I created. I named her Hazel." Explained Lux as he was very proud of first creating Hazel and second of Hazel herself, constantly improving herself through analysis.

"You created her? It is incredible! Do you think I could have one as well?" He asked with hope.

"I'm sorry. Hazel is unique, and she'll ever be the only one I create." He answered before he said out loud. "Hazel, come and present yourself."

[Hello sir, I am Hazel. I am the adventurer's system that master Lux created. In the future, I will be the one supervising the adventurer's guild thoroughly.] She replied with pride and happiness in her voice. At least Lux liked to believe he heard satisfaction and joy in her voice.

"I see. Nice to meet you, Hazel. I must say you are incredible to learn the limitations of my potions instantly." He praised before going back to the matter at hand. "For the potion price, I currently sell the healing potion at 80 bronze coins each, the antidote at one silver and seventy bronze coins, while I sell the mana potion at two silver coins." He said while giving the price for all the potions.

"It seems good. Hazel, what do you think of the price?" Asked Lux as ever since he had created Hazel, he had gotten used to having her second opinion as she was better than him in those kinds of things.

[The healing potion price is very fair, and even if he were to raise it to one silver coin, there would be no big problem. It would only affect the total sales as most people would let their wounds heal by themselves at that point. The mana potion is the same. There is no problem with the price since only E-rank mages will buy it for combat.

For the antidote, I would recommend reducing the price to one silver and forty bronze coin. The potion can only work up to F rank monsters, and luckily, there is the poisonous toad dungeon to the east of the capital. Typically, it wouldn't matter, but the dungeon creates many medicinal ingredients on its five first floors. People constantly farm the dungeon, and it just so happens that the dungeon security is now the guild's responsibility due to the king's task. Not only that, but the guild also received countless task requests to collect the medicinal ingredients from the dungeon. However, F rank monsters fill the seven first floors of the dungeon, so as long as the antidote price isn't too high, F rank adventurers will take the task and buy the antidote consequently. So, the cost of one silver and forty bronze coins at the maximum would increase its sales since adventurers would still make a decent profit after using the antidote.]

"Well, how about modifying the prices to those?" Asked Lux at the lost expression of the potion creator as he listened to the detailed analysis of Hazel.

"Sure, let's go with her prices. Her analysis makes more sense than me simply pitting prices depending on the market." He answered as there was so much to take into consideration when setting a price.

"Well, now that I decided to sell at the adventurer's guild, I would need the help of an adventurer or two to transport the stock of potions safely to the guild. I have a stock of about 2000 potions for each." He said with slight embarrassment. "Haha, you see, I love potion making, but I'm bad at business, and I only followed the trend to sell the potions. I have no money problem, and I love to produce potions, but recently, my potions stock took too much place, and I decided to sell them properly." He finished while scratching his hair with his right hand while he waited for Lux's answer.

"No problem, we can store all 2000 potions to put for sale. However, you'll need to hire at least two adventurers for the day to transport everything properly. I'd recommend 80 bronze coins each for the service as it will take them almost all day." He explained as the man nodded his head simply and gave the money as he didn't care.

"Alright, sign your name and address here, and I'll place the request for H rank adventurers. You should have two of them coming to visit you tomorrow morning to transport the cargo to the third floor of the guild." He finished looking at the time and noticed that he had talked with Elias for half an hour.

"Well, good evening. I'll be waiting for the adventurers tomorrow." He concluded as he got up from his seat after shaking Lux's hand and left the adventurer's guild.
