"Ano...All Might? Who are they?" Izuku asked his idol. He was extremely curious about their relationship.
All Might wasn't surprised by his question. Anyone would be curious about them. "Sigh, you don't need to know about the boy yet. If you want to accomplish your dream, you would eventually meet him in the near future. As for the girl, she's a natural genius. She...well, I don't know what to say, but she excels in all forms of martial arts. A martial arts prodigy I might add. Though not on the same level as all those masters out there, she could easily beat anyone her age without breaking a sweat. But she is not only a genius," All Might had a reminiscing expression as he saw what the girl had done over the years,"She also works extremely hard. Maybe she didn't want to fall behind him, but she often pushes herself to exhaustion."
"Him?"
"Yeah, that boy you just just now. I don't know where he came from, and he didn't tell me either. Maybe Eri knows, but I'm not sure. That boy is amazingly strong. Too strong in fact. He is a pro hero you know?" All Might grinned as he casually revealed his identity. He wanted to pay back Shido for his various pranks he did to him over five years.
"Woah! Really? Why haven' I seen a child hero? What is his hero name? What is his quirk? Where did he come from?" And like usual, he went into his fanboy mode, and started muttering incoherently.
"Wait wait wait. Stop!" All Might had to interrupt before his mutterings became endless. "Alright, for now, go home first and come again tomorrow. Once Eri finishes her plan, we can start, all right?"
"Y-Yes! I'll do my best!"
"Good. Kid, for now, I'm going off alright? And don't cling onto me like last time. It's dangerous." All Might spoke before leaping to the air, not waiting for his response.

At night, the trio was at home eating dinner in silence.
"So...was my decision really wrong?" Toshinori asked, breaking the silence.
"...I don't know...I don't judge others based on first impressions, but it's really hard to see him succeed with that sort of inferiority complex that was ingrained in him." Shido thought for a moment before replying. His earlier disdain wasn't completely real, but it wasn't completely fake either.
"Sigh, you really are too impulsive. Choosing someone who has only 10 months to adapt to your power and enter UA? If we weren't here with you, he'd probably destroy his body over and over again just to use your powers if he had followed your crude training plans." Eri sighed and spoke her thoughts. "Why didn't you ask your friends for help? Surely, as the number 1 hero, you would have some connections right? You can even ask your master to train him as well or some of your previous sidekicks to help you. You aren't exactly the best trainer here." She added mercilessly.
Toshinori thought about her words and sighed again. "You're right, maybe I was impulsive, but I still want him to inherit my quirk. There is no one else better than him."
"Actually there is. But you were just rejected. Twice, might I add." Shido followed up without hesitation, and Toshinori, who heard that, became sullen again. If Izuku didn't accept his quirk today, he would have seriously thought that his quirk was unpopular.
"Anyway, you have the money to hire professional trainers for him, so do it. Otherwise, I won't help you."
"Alright, alright. Thanks for the dinner. I'm going to call my previous sidekick for help now."

"Hello? What can I do for you today, Yagi-san?" A tall, lean-but-muscular man with rather sharp and elongated features replied to the phone. His shiny hair was always worn smoothed down and parted to his left, and was of a dark green colour, with three yellow streaks towards the front, two on his right, and one on his left. His eyebrows were also yellowish, matching the rims of the triangular glasses he wore and the strikingly bright-yellow irises of his stern-looking eyes.
He was currently standing in his office while looking outside of his window.
"Come on Mirai, just call me Toshinori." The voice replied back with joy.
"You know I can't do that Yagi-san, you're the number one hero in Japan and you should get the respect you deserve." Mirai replied back seriously, without even a tint of emotion present on his face.
"Sigh, you're as serious as ever. But this time, I have a favour to ask."
"A favour?" Mirai was slightly startled. He never thought his idol would ask him for a favour. Not many people know, but he was a huge fan of All Might, the entire reason why he decided to work as his sidekick in the first place. He absolutely adored All Might, and if one were to enter his office, they would be able to see All Might's merchandise everywhere in the room, from posters to figurines to clothes.
"Yes. Recently, I found a successor to inherit my quirk."
Mirai didn't respond for a while as he tried to recover from the shock. He was one the few who knew about his quirk and for years, he knew that All Might had only asked two people to inherit, both of whom rejected for various reasons.
"...Is it the boy who is living with you? Did he change his mind?" Mirai didn't like him too much, but logically speaking, he was the strongest and most suitable to inherit One for All. Mirio was strong, but he was still behind Shido, who was not only much younger and stronger than him, but also a pro hero already. He felt that Shido had too much bloodlust in him, and no matter how well Shido tried to hide it, it could not escape a veteran's eyes. However, since All Might didn't do anything about him, neither did he for he trusted All Might's judgement.
"No, he still rejected my quirk. It's another boy I found. He's quirkless, but has a great heroic spirit that is not found in many people, which was also the main reason why I chose him."
Mirai was curious about the new successor. As a fan of All Might, he would obviously ensure that his successor was the best, after all, he didn't want All Might's reputation to go down.
"So what do you want me to do with him? Judging from your tone, he seems weak?" Mirai was crossing his fingers, hoping that it wasn't true. But reality was often harsh.
"Yes...he is currently too fragile to inherit my quirk. I already planned to train him myself with my self-devised training plan, but Eri shut it down, saying that the training plan was wrong and asked me to find some professional trainers." All Might's voice could be heard from the phone, sounding a bit downcast.
Mirai also knew about Eri, and had mixed feelings about her. He didn't like the fact that Eri would often smack All Might and correct his mistakes, but he was also happy that Eri would accompany All Might. Despite being a fanboy, he was not blind to see that apart from smashing and raising morale, All Might was basically useless everywhere else. He couldn't do house chores or train others, since he himself only used smashing techniques to defeat his opponents, not that smashing was a very hard technique to begin with. With the presence of Eri, he had much more common sense instilled into him, and became more proficient in other things apart from smashing.
"So you want my help in finding some trainers for him?" Mirai rubbed his temples in frustration.
"...Yes...so can you help me?"
Mirai thought about it for a moment. He wanted to help, but it was only because All Might asked him. He didn't care much about the successor. What he admired was All Might himself, not his quirk.
"Fine. Bring him here two days from now after class. I'll have everything prepared by then." In the end, Mirai decided to help. He wanted to personally see the successor. Even if he was completely hopeless, he would continue helping him until All Might himself decided that he was either ready, or he was not suitable to be his successor. He was very rich, not as rich as some households like the Yaoyorozu household, but he could afford an entire building with ease. And of course, when helping All Might, he would put all his effort into helping him.
"Thank you very much Mirai."
"It's just a small favour." Mirai casually said. But no one else apart from himself would know that he would spend hundreds of thousands to invite the best of the best to be All Might's successor's trainer. As much as he didn't like Shido, he was, undoubtedly accurate in his analysis and evaluation, so he was curious what the boy had to say about the successor. "By the way, what did that brat say about your successor?"
There was silence for a while, before All Might reluctantly said,"A negative evaluation. He said that he didn't have the strength nor the resolve to become my successor."
"...And you still picked him?"
"Yes. I have my reasons of course. He has a great heroic spirit that wasn't present in many heroes."
"..." Hearing the reason All Might gave, Mirai sighed again. The reason was utterly bullshit to him. He never believed in a true hero apart from All Might. Every other hero became a hero for a reason, whether it was for fame, wealth, or just a way to get stronger or entertain him or herself. The rank 0 hero was a great example. He never became a hero to save people, he did it because he felt that it was fun. Of course, Mirai couldn't scold him, for that would make him a hypocrite. His wealth was just a product from becoming a hero, but it was no doubt that wealth was part of the reason why he became a hero. No matter how small the reason was, it was still a reason.
"I know that you yourself don't truly believe in it, but never mind. In the end, the final decision is still up to you."
"...Thank you, and good night, Mirai." Toshinori's voice rang out for the last time before the room descended into silence. It was currently late at night and the room didn't have a single light that was turned on. He just looked through his glass window that showed the entire scenery of Musutafu.
"Good night, Toshinori..." Mirai muttered under his breath before he tossed his phone on the table. No one knew what he was thinking about as he continued staring at the endless night sky that was sprinkled with stars...
