Kapitel 112: Chapter 112: First Round of Battle

Class 1-A Team decided to stick together and overwhelm Class B Team with their numbers. Tsuyu used her Frog Quirk to camouflaging herself on the wall. Denki offered to split up from the group and fire off his quirk, only for Eijiro to question what he'll do once he's all alone.

As they walked, Denki said that of the class 1-B team, Ibara was the most dangerous. Hitoshi pointed out that they should try to neutralize the ones who had the most troublesome Quirks. Tsuyu pointed out that the opposing team had probably thought of the same thing, so they would likely try to eliminate Denki or Shinso as soon as possible.

Just then, Koji's birds returned, to which he revealed that Ibara was to their left all alone, yet she's was heading their way while using her vines to probe all around her.

However, before they could act accordingly, Jurota came charging in with his Beast quirk activated, smashing both Eijiro and Tsuyu through nearby pipes with Roaring Rage.

He revealed that they knew Koji would locate them with his quirk and that they'd be wary of Ibara's Quirk after the Sports Festival, so they had her act as a decoy and allowed himself to get in close using his Beast to avoid leaving Denki to his own devices.

Kosei, who was riding Jurota, had used his Solid Air Quirk to imprison Koji in an Air Prison to prevent Denki from using his quirk around his teammates.

"Alright! Let's take them out, Shishida!" Kosei's voice rang out, and Jurota immediately replied enthusiastically. However, contrary to expectations, he suddenly became still.

As it turned out, the voice came from Hitoshi, using his Artificial Vocal Cords: Persona Chords.

Hitoshi tried to capitalize on the opportunity by restraining Jurota with his capturing weapon, but Kosei trapped him in another Air Prison and woke Jurota up from his brainwashing by smacking his head hard.

When Jurota charged and attack, Denki stepped in the middle with his own quirk. He got smacked aside but managed to use his Electrification to shock Jurota. Kosei's efforts to escape electrocution by jumping off Jurota left him open.

Tsuyu saw the opportunity and grabbed him with her tongue, taking him to the jail cell to eliminate him from the match.

However, Jurota wasn't just going to let her proceed to carry his teammate to their jail cell and he chased after her. Koji and Eijiro tried to keep him back, but he dodged them by changing back to normal before transforming back into a beast and grabbed both of them.

Jurota prioritized throwing Eijiro high into the air and into Ibara's field of vision as Eijiro was the only one who could withstand his power.

Denki and Tsuyu, who had already delivered Kosei, tried to save Koji but Jurota escapes for the time being, and both Eijiro and Koji are imprisoned, leaving the score as 2-1 Class B.

After ensuring that they are safe, Tsuyu and Denki used a few pipes to free Hitoshi from the air prison.

"And both teams are down a member after the sudden rampage of Shishida and Tsuburaba!! What's this?! Even though both teams have the same number of people remaining, will class B still have the mental toughness to keep up the pace?! The fierce attack of my students paid off!! Will class A be crushed by their overwhelming power?"

"Alright, stop commenting so biasedly." Shido smacked Vlad King's head and shook his head.

"It seems that my students aren't doing too well in this match..."

"Muhaha! Of course! While you guys have been running around all day being targetted by all villains, my class had much more time to actually train properly!" Vlad King proudly laughed while Monoma stood at the side and cheered Vlad King on.

Both teams took a small rest as they started their second round of discussion as Tsuyu came up with an idea and told Denki to use his sharpshooting gear to locate Jurota.

On Class 1-B's side, while discussing, Jurota suddenly picked up Tsuyu's scent, only to realize he had picked up three Tsuyu scents. The remaining Class 1-B students who watched the battle from a large screen wondered why Jutora thought there are three Tsuyu.

"Mucus..." Shido muttered, and unfortunately, Vlad King caught what he said.

"Huh? What about mucus?" Vlad King asked curiously.

"Don't you know that asking about people's quirk is not very polite without their permission~?" Shido mysteriously smiled and did not answer.

"Tch..." Vlad King clicked his tongue in annoyance but didn't ask any further since he also knew what he was doing was not really polite. Which made him wonder how come Shido knows so many things.

'Asui's strategy is perfect for throwing off and distracting Jurota's sensitive nose. By applying her mucus to Denki and Hitoshi, Jurota's counter strategy for each of their opponents couldn't be used as he wouldn't know who was who until they met face to face. If he was unlucky and met Denki, it was over for him.

Tsuyu, Denki, and Hitoshi discussed their plan as they rushed towards their opponents. Hitoshi noted that they only knew where Jurota was on account of Denki's pointer support item, but Denki suggested that they should do their best to take down Jurota as he posed a considerable threat.

Ibara uses her super move 'Via Dolorosa' to send out a dense vine growth in the Class 1-A team's direction while Jurota told her their locations.

Hiryu wondered how their locations were uncovered only to notice one of Denki's pointers on Jurota's body.

Just then, Ibara captured Denki and brought him towards them. Hiryu and Jurota prepared to retreat as Denki planned to shock all three of them with his quirk. Ibara quickly trapped him with her 'Crucifixion' and protected herself with 'Faith's Shield'.

Denki tried to electrocute Jutora by using his pointer's ability to guide his discharge into a straight line through a small gap in Ibara's vine sphere, but Hiryu used his scales to knock the pointer off of Jurota just before Denki's attack managed to land. Ibara then completely enclosed him within the vine sphere.

"Keep going!! Hurry up and respread the vines!" Hiryu's voice sounded, and Ibara was about to reply when she suddenly froze.

"Hey?! That wasn't my voice!!" The real Hiryu sounded.

Panicking, Hiryu asked Jurota for their opponent's locations, but Jurota only pointed vaguely in their direction, avoiding responding in words for the fear that it was Hitoshi's attempt to brainwash him again.

Hiryu then tried to wake Ibara out of her brainwash by shooting his scales. However, Tsuyu had already picked her up with her tongue and moved her out of range.

Hiryu then tried to ask Jurota for Tsuyu's location, identifying her as the greatest threat, but the paranoid Jurota still did not answer him.

At this point, Hiryu realized that communications between his team had been cut off, and before he can do anything, Tsuyu sent him flying with a powerful kick.

Jurota deduced Hitoshi's location by the movement of the two similar scents he could sense and charged him down. Just as Jurota had found Hitoshi, Hitoshi uses his Eraser Head Style: Binding Cloth Manipulation on a large pipe to hit Jurota's head.

Jurota endured the impact and prepared to attack Shinso again, but Tsuyu threw Hiryu towards Jurota. Hiryu yelled at Jutora to get away, but he thought that it was Shinso trying to cheat him using his voice changer again.

However, he realized that only his classmates would call him by the name 'Apocalypse'. Before he could react, the heads of both students collided, and both were rendered unconscious.

The rest was easy as Shinso brainwashed Ibara to help carry her teammates to jail before ordering her to go to jail herself, earning themselves a victory against class 1-B.

After everybody had woken up from their fight, the teachers didn't compliment them and just told them to state their reflections and what they've learned.

The first to be tossed into jail, Eijiro said with a frustrated tone, "It's hard to make good use of my quirk when we're not actually trying to pick a fight with the opponent. If this was the real world, I would've been killed the moment I was captured."

The second to get captured, Koji replied sadly, "I need to become able to issue more detailed orders to insects..."

On the other hand, Denki was smiling happily and moving his thumbs up back and forth in front of him.

"I was great, don't you think?! You just can't help but fall for me, can you? Go ahead, no need-"

However, before he could finish his self-praise, Shido smacked him on the head and stopped him from continuing.

"Self-sacrifice is admirable and all, but take note that if you choose to do that in real battles, the villains might kill you the first chance they got and not just drag you towards them as Ibara did." Shido said reproachingly, "Honestly..."

Tsuyu was the next person to speak, "I regret losing two teammates. I wanted to win without anyone missing. But it turned into pure chaos."

"I wasn't even able to apply ten percent of what I learned." Shinso spoke as he adjusted his scarf, "It's incredibly frustrating."

Hearing his words, Aizawa responded, "If you were able to do everything immediately, you wouldn't be working so hard. It took me six years to master the binding cloth. Do not forget the frustration you're feeling as you fight your next battle."

"Yes, sir."

After encouraging Shinso, Aizawa and Shido nodded their heads at each other before flaming the students.

"Kirishima. Focus on developing set-ups to lure your opponents into close-range combat! Your way of fighting is too simple now! I'm not saying it's bad, but against long-range opponents, you wouldn't be able to do anything. So don't waste your stamina and trying to get close to them. Instead, you set up the area so that they would be forced to come to you instead." Shido said. Eijiro nodded his head violently as he mentally took down everything his teacher had told him.

"Koda, you're already well aware of your own limitation and personality. Continue thinking about weak points and strive to improve on them. Don't beat yourself down too much; you have the potential to improve." Aizawa said, and Koda nodded his head.

"Asui, rather than dwelling on your mistakes, work on your ability to respond rapidly and cover for them. I noticed that you have used many frogs' abilities, which is commendable, but you can't let them limit you. You can work on your own personal abilities, but I would suggest that you work more on your leadership and team skills here. You would be an excellent emotional pillar for any team you would work with with your blunt and serious personality, but you don't react fast enough to cover your teammates' mistakes." Tsuyu just ribbited in response to Shido's words.

"Kaminari! You were far too careless in the beginning! Are you incapable of using your abilities without your comrades being taken out first?"

Contrary to Class A's intense discussion, Class B's was relatively quieter without two teachers pointing each and every one of their mistakes.

"You're all painfully aware already, aren't you?" Vlad King asked, to which he received a nod from his students, "Who is it at the center of your team? Shishida, or SHiozaki? You need to choose one. If someone had taken the role of the leader, you could have won!"

As Vlad King continued talking, his eyes also narrowed terrifyingly, scaring his students.

"Shiozaki cannot deceive people. And although you took that into account, it ended up backfiring." At this point, Monoma strutted in front of them and started talking before going towards Shinso and asking if he wants to discuss their plan for their fight.

The other students heard what Monoma said and was motivated to start their own discussions as well.

While the students discussed within their own team and waiting for the next match to start, the five teachers were gathered and had their own discussion.

"All Might. Midnight. Tell me, what did you think of Shinso?" Vlad King asked the two walk-in teachers as the trio walked towards them.

"He did very well! He didn't look timid out there at all. And the fact that he was frustrated with his own performance, and will strive to do better, is wonderful." All Might had nothing but praise for Shinso, but it was understandable.

Coming from a general class, an average person would have freaked out or panicked when fighting against students from the hero department. However, Shinso displayed none of those behaviors and only strived to do better.

"This exercise is 'center exam', so to speak, for admission into the hero course." Aizawa mentioned, "We can expect both sides to be quite passionate in the next set."

After a while, Vlad King decided that they had enough break, so he announced, "Then, without further ado, team 2! Prepare for the second set!"
