While Jack struggled to keep his proud face, Halmut clutched Jack's hand and tore off the hero's storage rings while breaking his hand in the process. "How dare you hide your card?! COWARD!!"
But Halmut's face suddenly shifted as well. From seething rage, Halmut's frown became deeper and now showed fury of disbelief. "WHERE IS IT?!?!"
"What?" Jack laughed again, enduring the pain as he limply and willingly lifted his other arm to the dragon. "Go ahead… Check my other hand… I don't mind…"
Halmut did just that. He savagely broke Jack's other hand as he ripped the rings from Jack's fingers, again stumped and infuriated.
"Can't find what you're looking for?" Jack chuckled again.
Burying his hand back into Jack's torso, Halmut twisted his claws around, tearing away at Jack's internals. "WHERE IS IT?!?!"
"I should ask… the same… about your… map?" Jack managed to utter his sarcastic question.
"HOW--"
So... allow me to address what happened yesterday and what's to come of Achievement Junkie... First, know that I'm fine and still writing more than ever. But I spent a day and a half realizing something about AJ that I wanted to make sure had not way of being any different.
Well... This is, in fact, the final arc of Achievement Junkie. Due to two small tweaks I made to how I wrote this arc and how those two weeks connect via plot, I will have no means of making the arc I had planned to follow this one. However, this means that you'll be receiving all of the climactic events planned for this arc as well as the climactic events I had planned for the next arc wrapped up into one, creating the best ending I could think of. Yes, I could force a next arc or introduce something entirely new but that wouldn't end in a way more satisfactory and awesome than this arc will, not without going far beyond anything I have planned and mapped out.
So... I'm sorry that I stated another arc was coming and that I shocked myself to have the story take a slightly different turn than I expected. But I'll be very proud of how AJ ends and happy to know that I'll have completed an entire webnovel nearly 1,000,000 words long. Most authors on webnovel would rarely have that but I see it as a beginning since this is just the first of MANY stories to come that are all part of the Quillverse. Also, there will be no delays between the final chapters of AJ and resuming the following webnovel, Divine Beast Ascension. No break will be needed and I'm excited to have a completed story as proof of my determination as an author while continuing with Oli's origin story in Divine Beast Ascension.
THANK YOU!!!!! You're the reason I kept writing and the reason this story is worth sharing. What's the point of writing if I didn't have such an amazing audience to share it with?
