Kapitel 148: 148. Stained

Nicholas looked sullen but finally complied. Rissa slowly touched the corner of Nicholas's lips with a cotton bud. Nick grimaced like a child, but no crying. Then Rissa applied ointment to the bruises on Nicholas's face.

Her step-brother kept staring at her face as long as Rissa treated him. That's a bit annoying. If only Rissa had an eye patch, she would have blindfolded Nicholas.

"Now take your shirt off," Rissa ordered.

Nicholas grinned. "You want to see me naked?"

Rissa widened her eyes. "Do you want me to treat you or not?" Nicholas didn't budge. "Okay. I think you can use your medicine by yourself."

Rissa put the ointment next to Nicholas then stood up. Nicholas withdrew her hand.

"Don't go."

Rissa could feel her heart tremble when Nicholas touched her. She hated this. Maybe she would never be able to stop loving Nicholas completely.

"Please."
