Kapitel 29: Chapter 29: Another Vampire Trespasser

Paris stormed over to him, probably in hopes to convince him he was making a mistake.

Ignoring both of them, I made my way over to the food, stuffing my face. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Paris still rattling on.

“Let’s head out,” Abel announced, cutting Paris short as he went off ahead.

When I looked at Paris, I was surprised to see her eyes weren’t filled with anger, but hurt. She had a resigned look on Paris’s face as she walked past me that almost made me feel sorry for her.

“Come on,” Phebe said, waving me over from the doorway. Realizing I was the only one still left in the house, I rushed towards her quickly.

“What’s up with her?” I asked, matching Phebe’s pace as I strolled beside her. Paris walked a few feet ahead of us on her own, kicking away at the rocks in her path.

“She’s not usually like this,” Phebe said, shaking her head.

“What’s she usually like?”
