“What was that for?” I asked, still disoriented.
“I can’t stay away from you. Not anymore.”
“Then don’t,” I said, my heart thumping in my chest as I looked at him.
I don’t know how long we stood there staring at one another until I heard Dana’s voice break the silence.
“Hey, there you are! Oh-,” she said excitedly, simmering down once she noticed Abel.
I forcibly tore my eyes from Abel to turn to Dana, shooting her a bright smile.
“I thought you might want to come to the campfire,” she said, motioning over to the crowd of people who were quickly surrounding a large fire that blazed tall and bright.
“I’ll find you later,” Abel said, nodding at the both of us before walking off.
I turned back to see Dana smiling at me eagerly.
“Shut up,” I said, rolling my eyes as I walked towards the fire.
“You’re telling me everything later,” she insisted, looping her arm in mine as we neared the crowd.
