Kapitel 52: Sabotage

A few minutes later, Mord came in and told Damian and Mills that Matt had informed Nathan about the doctor and he wants to talk to them about something. Damian and Mills left Christian, Sunny and Matt there to continue asking questions from Steveland while they went up to meet Nathan and hear what he wanted to say. As they entered the room, they saw Matt leaving with an angry face. Damian had this feeling that he might do something extreme. But didn't pursue the thought for much longer.

After half an hour, it was seven o'clock when Damian returned back to the basement leaving Mills and Nathan to talk to themselves. As he climbed down, he saw Christian and Sunny lying on the ground while Matt was continuously hitting Steve whose chair had fallen backwards and was lying tied on it. Damian quickly ran towards him and separated him from Steve.

"What the hell? What are you doing? Did you do this to Chris and Sunny?", Damian asked throwing him off on the ground few meters away.

"What? No. I came and saw them lying there like that. He was smiling so I thought he must've done something. That's why I was asking him", Matt replied.

Damian looked at Steve who coughed a mouthful of blood. He pulled the chair up and checked if Steve was okay. Slapping him on his cheeks lightly to bring him to the present, "Hey, you bastard. What did you do to them?", he asked.

"What do you mean, I am tied up. What can I even do?", Steve said with a grin.

Then Damian looked around and asked Matt, "Mord. Where is he?".

"I don't know. He wasn't here when I came", he answered.

"Are you sure they are not dead?", Damian asked.

"Yes. They are just unconscious", he said.

"Go. Bring Kayla. She will be in the infirmary", Damian said as Steve laughed loudly.

"What are you laughing at, you bastard?", Matt said as he took a step towards him but looking at Damian's serious face, he walked away running towards infirmary.

"What are you planning? How many of you are here? Tell me this instant or you're gonna regret laughing", Damian said with serious face.

Steve replied with a whistle and then smiled once again.

Damian seeing that there was no other way he was gonna talk, pulled out his knife and approached Steve slowly. Steve still showing his fearless fake persona, kept smiling.

"Last chance", Damian asked and waited for three seconds waiting for a reply but next moment, his knife was inside the kneecap (Patella). A loud scream came from Steve feeling the pain.

"That was your last chance. Now I won't ask anymore", Damian said before pulling out the knife a bit and then inserting it back once more. The agony Steve felt could be felt in his scream as tears fell down his eyes automatically. Damian feeling that his screams were too loud, gagged his mouth. Then, slowly, he started rotating his knife slowly, breaking the knee joint in Steve's leg. The muffling scream still showed the agony he was going through. Then, he passed out.

Suddenly, the stab in another knee joint brought back the man to consciousness as he looked at his right knee which was a bloody mess while the knife was now in his left knee.

"You gon'na give me the answer, or should I blind you?", Damian asked with a threatening face.

Steve just nodded incessantly without stopping his muffling as tears kept flowing out of hi ears.

"Good", Damian said as he removed his gag. "What did you do to those two?", he asked.

Steve took a few short breaths before saying with a bit of pain in his voice, "I didn't- The cookies - Drugged by M- Myers", he said as he took in breath in between the sentence. But Damian understood and now knew what he said.

Just as he said that, Kayla came down in the basement and saw Damian with bloody Steve. She was coming straight towards them when Damian said, "Check those two first".

Kayla just now noticing the two people lying down on the ground, gasped, "Oh. What happened to them?", she asked.

"The cookies Mrs. Myers gave you. You left them here. These two ate it", Damian said.

"What?", shocked, Kayla quickly checked their nerves and condition.

"They're just unconscious. Don't know how long they'll take to wake up", she said.

Damian looked at Steve and asked, "What are you planning?".

Steve was silent for a moment before Damian picked up his knife once again and looked at him threateningly. But just when he was about to say something, someone fell down from the stairs. Damian and Kayla looked at the man who fell and identified Matt lying motionless on the ground with a knife in his neck.

Damian due to sudden sound, pulled out his gun and aimed towards the door. Suddenly, a shadow came inside and a man with a gun pointed on them as he entered the basement. Kayla quickly hid behind the table that hid her from the line of sight.

"Mord? What did you do?", Damian said as Mord revealed himself and pointed his gun at Damian.

Mord who had two rifles hanging on his back looked at Christian and Sunny lying on ground. Damian guessed his intentions and quickly pointed his gun at Steve.

"Don't do anything foolish. I'll shoot him first", Damian said. "Were you with him all this time?", he asked.

Then only Mord noticed Steve's condition and became a little hesitant. "You can't escape. They are already here", he said.

Kayla who was holding Sunny's gun looked at Damian from the table who nodded without looking at her. The next instant, she looked out of the table and fired at Mord. The bullet missed the mark but distracted Mord for a moment that gave Damian enough time to shot him three times. Once on his leg, disbalancing him, then in his chest and then on his head after he fell down on the ground.

Damian looked at Matt and gestured at Kayla, "Check on him, quick", he said. Kayla quickly ran towards Matt.

"He is dead", she said while shaking her head.

"Don't let him turn", Damian said. Kayla looked at Damian deeply before nodding. She pulled out the knife from his neck and pushed it in from the back of his head killing his brain.

Damian then coldly looked at Steve who was about to say something but before that he felt some heat from his chest. A bullet had penetrated his chest, as he looked up at Damian who was lowering his gun. And with that, Steve was now dead. Damian pulled out the knife from the knee and pushed it on his skull avoiding him turning into a walker.

"He said they are already here. I have to alarm others", Damian said as he put the knife back and picked up the rifle from the dead Mord. He then looked at Kayla and said, "Wake them up if you can. Be ready to shoot anyone who comes here". He saw Kayla nodding before he ran out.

Just as he stepped out of the basement, he heard gunshots in the houses in the beginning of the entrance into the farm. Damian quickly climbed through the window and entered inside the house. He ran towards Nathan's room and saw Mills running towards the exit door to see what's happening.

"Mills. Come back. Enemy's here", Damian shouted from the back and Mills, who had almost opened the door, stopped and came back.

"What happened? how did they come inside without anyone noticing?", he asked.

"Everyone was unconscious. Mrs. Myers drugged the cookies she was giving away", he said.

"Where are others? Chris? Sunny? Mord?", Mills asked.

"Chris and Sunny ate the cookies. Mord was one of them. I killed him. I killed Steve too", Damian said.

"Matt", a sound came from above. "Libbi", Nathan called her children but no one responded.

"Where's Elizabeth?", Damian asked with worry.

"I didn't see here in the house", Mills replied. "Matt went out a bit ago", he added.

"Matt... Mord killed him", Damian revealed. "He's downstairs", he added.

It shocked Mills. For a moment, he didn't say anything. Then he looked at Damian and said.

"We need weapons", Mills said coming back to the present situation.

"Right. What do we do?", Damian asked.

"Take these", Nathan who was listening at the duo for some time said from behind while opening the secret safe behind a picture revealing four guns and several magazines.

"Nathan...", Mills was about to say something, but Nathan interrupted him saying, "Hurry. There's no time to waste", as he picked up a gun and checked the magazine.

Damian looked at the two man and jumped out of the window to the side avoiding the door. He then ran towards the infirmary which was the nearest to the house. The doors were locked meaning there was no one inside. Damian then paced towards the next house covertly, avoiding being seen by others. He entered the house from the window and moved from room to room. Some were lying on the sofa while others lying on the bed. Some were on the floor. Damian tried to wake them up but they didn't move. He gave up and picked up the gun from the unconscious man and put it on his belt.

He then moved towards the next house. He remembered it was Christian's. He walked in and searched the rooms one by one. After seeing only sleeping woman on the ground floor, he moved up and as he reached the first floor, he heard a noise from a room.

Damian paced to see if someone was still conscious. Just as he opened the door, someone fired the gun towards him. Luckily, it missed Damian and hit the door, and Damian saw Lily aiming her gun at him.

"Hey. Hey. It's me. Damian", Damian said as he stepped forward with his hands in the air. Inside, he saw Elizabeth sleeping on the bed.

"What is she doing here?", Damian asked.

"She suddenly fell asleep on the bed while I went out to fill the water bottle", she said as she lowered her gun.

"You didn't eat the cookies?", Damian asked.

"I don't like sweet", she said.

"Lucky you. Help me take her to Nathan's. Your brother's also there", Damian said.

"Is he okay?", she asked. Damian looked at her without saying anything. "Don't tell me he ate those cookies", she said with doubt. Damian just sighed.

Just then, they saw people entering the house. Damian sushed Lily by gesturing her to keep quiet as he looked outside the room. He pulled out the gun with silencer and positioned himself as he walked out.

Damian heard someone say, "Hey, didn't you hear the orders. Kill the men, tie the women. Why did you kill her?". It felt like a familiar voice. Damian looked down and saw 4 people looking at a dead woman and arguing with one another.

"She is old and fat. What use would she have?", the man said.

"It's not for you to de-", the man didn't complete the sentence when someone fired from above and headshotted the man he was talking to. Before they could react, two more fires killed his other companions and when he finally aimed his rifle towards the assailant, it was already too late as he felt a warm feeling in his chest. Looking down, he saw his shirt getting wet with red blood. He then looked at the person who was coming down and noticed him.

"Nice to see you again, Sean", Damian said as he shot the man looking in his eyes.

Lily came out with Libbi on her shoulder. Damian ran back up and picked Elizabeth in his arms and walked down.

"We can't go through this door. Let's go through the back", he advised and Lily nodded.
