Kapitel 1: Ruins of the 25th Millennium (1)

Science unveils the mysteries of the world and we gain knowledge. With knowledge comes power and with it, control. Thus it is inevitable that when advanced enough, technology shall control the world and rule all.

Mastery of the universe comes through technology obtained because of knowledge.

But what if the knowledge part could be skipped?

...

The 1st thing he saw when he opened his eyes was a metallic ceiling, there were exposed wires going through it, most were torn and hanging loosely. Sparks occasionally flashed between the wires.

The next thing he noticed was the strange cold feeling from behind him, it was freezing, yet to his front, he felt warm air on his body. He became very confused by what he was seeing.

'Is this a dream or did I get abducted by aliens?!' He thought and tried to sit up, he felt something on his face that stopped him from fully doing it.

He brought his hand and touched it, some sort of mask covered the lower part of his face, it was connected to wires and tubes going somewhere he could not see.

He forcefully pulled and the mask came off, it looked like a rebreather of sorts. He inspected it with raised eyes and put it aside, that was when he observed his situation.

He was inside a sleeping pod of sorts, white and cold smoke was emitted from it and obscured his vision to see the surroundings clearly. There was a lid to his pod that was made of glass and rested above him. It looked like something straight out of a science fiction movie.

He looked down and his eyes widened in shock.

"This... is not my body!" He exclaimed and brought his hands forward, they were pale and very skinny. He touched his fingers in disbelief and awe. "How is this possible?"

He looked down again, ignoring the fact that he was naked, and saw how malnourished his current body was. He could see the bones through the skin easily. The body had to belong to a young adult male, he quickly realized. He felt a lot of hair behind him and above him, he raised his hand and took his hair in his hand, it was a bone white color. His hair was very long, way past his waist, and was scattered around him chaotically.

He gulped loudly, and countless thoughts and possibilities flashed in his mind.

"I transmigrated... That's the only answer." He muttered and observed his surroundings.

The smoke had diminished considerably so he could make out a room of sorts with flickering screens and holograms, scattered pieces of metal and glass on the ground, and the occasional blue spark.

To the sides, he saw other pods like his own, but the lids were tightly shut. He tried to stand up, it was difficult and he felt disoriented but not impossible.

He climbed down from the pod slowly and began walking toward the pod that was closest to his own.

When he got close enough and looked within, he let out a startled shout and quickly backed away.

"A skeleton? Does that mean...?" He unsurely murmured and cautiously approached the other ones.

There was only bone within them. No sign of life was detected. He saw his own reflection on the glass of the pods, he had violet eyes and a contrastingly young face compared to his body. He was good-looking, but nothing amazing. Of course, he didn't care that much about it, there were more important things he had to pay attention to...

"Am I the only one alive here?! Where is this?"

He made way to the holograms and screens, most were dysfunctional, and those that weren't were destroyed. He saw corpses on the ground every few meters, the corpses were only made of cracked and seemingly ancient bones. All humanoid, nothing alien.

'This has to be a crazy dream! The last thing I remember is going to sleep peacefully, how did I transmigrate? I am screwed... ' He thought as he left the room, walking very carefully to not step on any wire or sharp thing.

He found himself in a hallway with barely functioning lights, nervously clenching his fists, he gathered his courage and began walking. He felt uncomfortable since he was naked, but the air was warm so he didn't have to worry about freezing to death.

The pod had probably frozen his body before it had opened. He knew these kinds of pods were usually used in movies to put people to sleep for very long periods of time, especially in spaceships. When he looked around again, he concluded he was in some sort of space ship.

He walked for a few minutes until he saw a door and entered behind it was a huge chamber. Futuristic technology was everywhere, he saw strange guns, destroyed robots, scattered corpses, and many other things. But the most striking was the huge hole in the chamber wall seemingly created due to an explosion.

"Wow...!" He loudly exclaimed as he saw the scenery behind the hole. Two bright suns shed light into a beautiful world, he saw trees, waterfalls, and life for as far as his eyes allowed. The scent of grass, flowers, and jungle drifted to his nose.

He stepped over the things on the ground and approached the hole to see better.

He put his hand on the wall, a strange feeling came to him but he ignored it, instead focusing on the world outside.

The place he was in was on the side of a small cliff, surrounded by mountains and forests of many colors from all sides. Green plants, orange trees, red bushes, purple leaves... It was a breathtaking sight.

He could faintly hear the sound of birds and insects he had never heard before from far away, but interestingly, no sound came from near his location.

'No animal or insect seems to approach wherever I am, maybe a shield of sorts?' He mused and enjoyed the view.

It didn't last long.

He kneeled on the ground as a terrible feeling of hunger assaulted him, 'Damn it... What do I even eat here?! If I go out some predator might just eat me, there has to be food in this place.'

That was when something beneath him slowly shook, his eyes widened as he vigilantly stepped back.

The place he had been standing on cracked, and a huge figure crawled out. It had 5 red glowing red eyes on its head and was made of gray metal. It was a 10 feet tall robot.

Ace was scared out of his mind, he began running but the door of the chamber closed as the robot waved his hand and said emotionlessly in a robotic voice, "Exterminating target identified as test subject 18."

It began approaching him as a chainsaw came to life on its left arm, Ace's eyes widened in horror.

'There is no escape!' He realized as he checked the chamber; There was no exit, he could not outrun the robot, and he could not resist at all. He picked up a gun he saw near him and aimed it at the robot and pulled the trigger, but nothing happened. He tried to run but tripped on a skeleton and fell.

He cursed as his very long hair obstructed his vision. Despair and terror gripped his hand like a hand, squeezing it in his chest, making him unable to breathe. 'Am I going to be shredded to pieces by a chainsaw?'

Just as the robot reached him and swiped its chainsaw arm to cut him, he shouted out of desperation, "STOP!"

At that moment, he felt a strange pulsation in his brain, and to his surprise, no pain came.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked at the robot that was suspended as if time had stopped. Its eyes were no longer red, they were violet.

And to his shock, Ace could feel some sort of connection with it. He could feel its presence in his mind in a bizarre way he had never felt before.

'Did I just control this thing? How?! This can only mean one thing...'

He stood up vigilantly and tried to will the robot to back away, it obeyed his will and retreated, deactivating the chainsaw. He took a better look at it, it was a very large and bulky robot, almost looking like a golem of sorts.

Ace's jaw nearly hit the ground from shock, 'Can I somehow control robots? Or perhaps there is more to it...'

He smiled, "There is hope." Excitement filled his heart, the prospect of some sort of superpower made him nearly forget his close encounter with death.
