Kapitel 12: Ken's Home
Ken's car stops in front of a house which looks newer than the other houses near it. Ken gets off fast in a hurry and runs towards the door. Haisha gets off and starts stretching his arms and says “Ah!! Finally!! We're finally here... This was a long journey... We've had so many problems but we're finally here...” Kaori smacks his head from behind as if she was asking him to stop overacting and rushes to Ken. Sap gets out of the car and walks towards Ken too. Ken was sitting down, with a gravely wounded cat in his hands.
Ken- Who did this to you? Was it him?
Cat- Nya...
Ken- So... It wasn't Yamainu...
Cat- Nya...
Ken- Then who was it?
Cat- Nyaa....
Ken- Ah... You've been through a lot...
Ken holds her in his hands and opens the door. A dog was seen running, waggling his tail, with a plate with a cup of tea in its mouth.
Ken- Don't tell me---
Cat- Yeah... She is here...
Sap- YOU CAN TALK?!
Cat- Nya...?
Sap- *looking at Kaori* I am not delusional... Am I?
Kaori- Your choice of words was so wrong... You are delusional...
Sap- No! I mean---
Meanwhile Ken starts slowly walking into his own house like a burglar to keep the person inside from noticing him. Ken sees a figure in a room on the inside and that confirms his theory of how it all happened. He goes in and screams
Ken- WHY ARE YOU HERE?!
What came back was the voice of a girl.
??- Ah... Am I not allowed here?
Ken- Well... This is my property... So... No...
??- My my... Did it become illegal to visit someone in the time I was gone?
Ken- Well... Technically you aren't visiting me... You are trespassing... And... I have every right to take you to the police...
??- I come back after two years... Only to know that my weak little brother had left the house... You don't know how hard it was to find your home...
Ken- But you did trespass...
??- No I didn't... Your precious little friend let me in...
Ken- You damn traitor!! I heard dogs were loyal...
Yamainu- Well... Technically... I am half human... So...
Ken- Well then... Let's just say you trespassed as well...
??- You really believe that the police can do anything to me?
Ken- Well... I don't think you are the only level 0 around here...
??- Well... I don't think I fall into the category of level 0...
Ken- Oh... Did you fail in the dungeons?
??- Nope... I'm just a lot stronger than your average level 0 now...
She comes out of the room.
??- You see... We became the first team to conquer all the dungeons around the world...
Haisha- That's impossible...
Sap- How can someone---
Kaori- Cleared all?!
??- Oh... I didn't realise you had some friends... I hope they don't end up like---
Ken- WOULD YOU STOP ALREADY?!
Yamainu- Kana-san! Kana-san!!
Kana- Yeah?
Yamainu- Will you take me with you?
Kana- My my... What do you think is the life expectancy of a dog?
Yamainu- 16 years?
Kana- How old are you?
Yamainu- 15...? *Gulps*
Kana- If you want to live for the one year you have left, you should better stop trying to get me...
Yamainu- Sorry... *makes sad dog noises*
Ken- Get out!
Kana- What?
Yamainu- What?
Ken- Both of you! Get out!
Kana- You think you can make me?
Ken- I can... Don't test my patience... Get out...
Yamainu- I think we should---
Kana- You think you can?! My my!! Says the kid who couldn't even use his ability two years ago and ended up killin---
*A girl appears out of nowhere*
???- Umm... Kana... Where is the restaurant you promised to show me?
Kana- Did you already finish---
???- Yeah... I finished trying all the dishes from the restaurant you left me in...
Kana- Oh... Let's go then...
???- Wanna ride my back?
Kana- Nah... Will you slow down for me?
Ken- Umm... Miss... I don't know who you are and where you came from... But... *Holds his hand upwards and then opens his palm to reveal a key* Where did you get this from?
???- That belongs to me...
Ken- Oh... Why don't you try to take it?
Kana- Oh really? You see... She walked in back then... She didn't teleport...
Ken- I saw that...
Kana- What bullshit are you talking about? Even I didn't see that...
Ken- Then... Why doesn't she try to take it from me when she is so fast? It's supposed to be an easy task for her... Right?
???- What? A challenge about speed? I'm in!!
Ken and that unknown girl both disappear for a second. They both reappear but Ken was standing in a position which showed that he had kicked someone and the girl reappeared to have hit the wall and fallen down.
Ken- My my... You were supposed to be fast...
???- But... I slowed down your time...
Ken- You are the youngest person to have ever cleared a dungeon ever... Right? And now you're the youngest person to have ever cleared all dungeons too... You have an ability which lets you use your eye to slow down someone else's time or accelerate someone else's time... You've grown stronger because of the dungeons and now you can change the time speed for an area... You can reduce it down to 20% or accelerate it by 80%... But... Even with both of them combined... In my house... I'm still a lot faster than you are... Now... I hope all three of you will get out before I do the worst I can do to you...
???- Wow... That was weird... I didn't think I'd actually lose...
Ken- You might've won if you had your equipments...
???- Can't promise though...
Ken- Well... *Throws her the key* If you really want to go there... You should be careful...
???- I just want to know who tried to pull that kind of prank...
Ken- If you want to battle him, don't go easy on him for even a moment... He is as fast as me in that place...
Kana- This is impossible... How did you defeat her?!
Ken- In my home, I'm capable enough to beat the shit out of both of you in an instant...
Kana- You couldn't even use your ability when I left... How are you---
Ken- If you are worried about succession... I don't have anything to do with the family anymore... You'll become the next head of the Yamada family...
Kana- IDIOT!! THAT'S NOT IT!! I FUCKING RISKED MY LIFE EVERY FUCKING DAY IN THOSE FUCKING DUNGEONS TO GET STRONGER AND COME BACK AS THE STRONGEST HERE!! YOU CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE HOW MANY TIMES I GOT CLOSE TO DEATH!! AND NOW I COME BACK TO SEE MY STUPIDLY WEAK BROTHER BECOME STRONGER THAN ME WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING!!!!
Ken- Who told you I became stronger without doing anything? You don't even know how I lived these last two years... You probably know it by now, don't you? “One has to lose something to gain something...”
Kana- Pocket Dungeon...
Ken- Yeah... I'm the co-creator of it... This was a quote I made from my experience to teach you guys how to survive in the dungeons...
Kana- The rumoured group that conquered all the dungeons, even before us...
Ken- I was sadly not a part of that group till the end... But... Let me tell you something... You guys conquering all the dungeons will soon become a rumour too... Because there is no way to confirm it...
???- Kana-san... I think we should go...
She disappears with Kana. Ken goes to the room she was in and sits down.
Ken- Ah... Feels like a storm has gone by...
The others go in that room too. It was a bedroom.
