Kapitel 5: Chapter 5- Her birthday
"Umm, Li Xue?" someone calls you from behind. You turn around and find Feng Ning.
"Oh right! I forgot you were also here." you say smiling. He then steps closer to you and says, "I am telling you that I, Feng Ning, am not here just to celebrate your birthday."
You cut him short by asking, "You want to declare a war at Li Kingdom??"
"No, silly. Your father and my father are good friends. There is no way, they would declare war on each other." he says smacking your head. " Ow... That hurts. Then what else are you here for?"
"You'll know soon." he says with a grin. You force out a smile and then try to think about his words.
Just then, you notice that he is too close to you. Your bodies are almost touching.
You move a step back and see C/N pulling Feng Ning away from you.
Feng Ning looks over from his shoulder and meets C/N''s eyes. A smile spreads across his face and he opens his paper fan, "Ji Xuan, Ji Xuan. Been a while, right?"
"Hmm.." C/N hums in agreement.
"I think they are friends." you think.
"Feng Ning, she is already engaged to me." C/N says which sounds like a warning to you.
"Hm, I know. I won't stop trying though.." he finishes with a laugh and leaves.
C/N looks at you and grabs your hand dragging you behind a huge rock. "I don't want to see you around him again. He isn't a good person." he explains.
"What do you mean 'he isn't a good person?" you ask.
"He has been engaged to three ladies now. And people here say, he is crazy. Ji Xuan knew him as a kid. He was a playboy then."
"Eesh.. I mean he is handsome so I understand the playboy part." you say.
An awkward surrounds you both and you start getting uncomfortable. "Did I say something wrong?" you think while looking on the ground, trying to avoid C/N's glare.
He suddenly slams his hand near your face on the rock and asks, "Is he more handsome than me?"
You remain quiet with a puzzled look on your face. "Are you jealous?" your mouth mumbles out.
You look in his eyes and then he breaks the eye contact and looks down.
"Why would.. I be jealous?" he says a low voice.
You see his ears turn red slowly and you lift his face with your slender fingers.
You suppress your upcoming laugh and say, "You are the most handsome guy I have ever met. Nobody can compete against you. Ji Xuan on the other hand, did have a chance against Feng Ning."
"I didn't understand you." he says, his blush fading away.
"I mean, Ji Xuan was so cold to Li Xue, And Feng Ning is friendly and soft-spoken guy, so she probably would have chosen him over Ji Xuan." you explain.
"Hm.." he hums.
He then looks into your eyes, almost as if he can see everything behind your almond-shaped, brown eyes. Moving his face closer, he kisses lightly on your rosy lips.
You push him away and start walking.
"Where are you going, cute little tomato?" he asks as he catches up with you.
"Sh-Shut up.." you stammer out. "You are more redder than the tomatoes I ate for breakfast today."
You hit him lightly on his head and start walking towards your place.
Almost suddenly, he grabs your hand and starts pulling you in the other direction. "What are you doing? Its late now, I need to go eat and then sleep." you say as you struggle to keep up with his pace.
"We'll go to my place for tonight." he says.
"Uh, wh-No.. Why?" you keep muttering but he doesn't reply and keeps on dragging you.
You both sleep on the same bed again.
"Don't get too touchy, we're still fifteen, understood?" you warn him.
"Yeah, yeah." he says not paying much attention.
You both still ended up hugging each other to sleep.
The next morning, you wake with the sun coming right on your eyes through the slightly opened window.
You cover your eyes and get up slowly. "Oh, wait.. C/N's place.. Where is he?" you think and look around you.
"Finally awake, huh?" someone says.
Your eyes move towards the window and you see C/N standing and dressed, rather formally.
"Happy birthday." he says with a gentle smile.
"My birthday isn't today." you say while yawning.
"Yours isn't, Li Xue's is." He says. "Oh, wait. Right.. I need to get changed! Get out fast." you shout and push C/N towards the door.
C/N looks at you with a slight smile and goes out. A few seconds later, many servants enter with tons of dresses and accessories.
"May all your birthday wishes come true, your highness!" they all wish.
You give them an awkward smile and without wasting anymore of precious time, they start showing you dresses and ask you to choose any one you like.
"They all are so heavily-decorated. Will I even be able to walk in them?" you think.
Just then, a gorgeous, enthralling dress comes in front of you. "Wait, could I take a look at that?" you ask.
The servant holds the long, beautiful dress in hands and it almost reaches the ground. The dark blue shade and golden pattern on it gives it a majestic look.
"I'll wear this one for my birthday." you say after gazing at the dress for a while.
They start dressing you up and bring the accessories that match with the golden pattern on the dress.
You step outside and take a breath of the morning air deeply.
"I wonder what you would look like while wearing that dress." C/N says holding his chin.
"The dress would reach the ground because I am too short." you say with a slight laugh.
"We should head to the hall now, your highnesses." a servant speaks from behind you both.
