Kapitel 82: Chapter 82: Sealing the Star System

This was not good news at all. Because of the Snowhawk Bai family, Feng Mo found himself unexpectedly caught up in a power struggle within the Federation. No matter what choice he made, it seemed like trouble was inevitable. So, he needed to choose the option that would maximize his own benefit.

First, he had to rule out the military. Their ambitions were too grand, and Feng Mo had no desire to become the vanguard of a massive purge, as that would only invite enmity from various factions, a price too high to pay.

Next, the Council was also not an option. Their plan to apprehend the Bai family and hold a public trial conflicted with his mission. Relying on them to handle it could easily lead to unexpected complications. If the Bai family managed to escape and hide on some distant planet, Feng Mo's mission would be a failure.

That left him with the noble houses. Taking them up on their offer and personally annihilating the Bai family would fulfill his mission, allow him to step away afterward, and earn him favors from powerful allies. After all, Feng Mo was a noble himself and naturally inclined to side with them.

He couldn't betray the very foundation that supported him. It was a matter of principle.

"Uncle Gu, tomorrow, I'll gather my fleet and destroy the Bai family. Please inform the participating noble houses and have them seal off the Windmill Star System for one day. One day will be enough!" Feng Mo declared.

"Good. Since you've made your choice, Uncle will support you unconditionally. I'll make the necessary arrangements, and the noble houses will shield you from any backlash from the military or the Council afterward. You'll also be compensated appropriately," General Gu assured him.

"Thank you, Uncle Gu. Time is short, so I'll start mobilizing the fleet," Feng Mo replied.

Ending the call, Feng Mo turned to Ai Er. "Order the Storm Fleet to assemble. We leave in one hour. Have the Elf Fleet defend the Storm Star System, and the Explorers Fleet patrol our territory."

"Yes, Commander!" Ai Er, the iron-blooded officer, responded sharply before heading out.

Feng Mo used the remaining time to prepare. Under Hua Qin's assistance, he donned his combat uniform and took a hovercraft to Storm Starport. Once there, he boarded the Hurricane, now serving as the fleet's flagship.

Entering the main control room of the Hurricane, Feng Mo prepared for the ship's first real battle: the annihilation of the Snowhawk Bai family. He was eager to see how the newly constructed quasi-T5 warship would perform.

At that moment, Hua Qin, his diligent adjutant and secretary, approached to report. "Commander! The Storm Fleet is ready to depart. We'll traverse through the U3 System, use the star gate, and arrive at the Windmill Star System in 7 hours and 43 minutes. The route is plotted and ready for your command."

"Set out!" Feng Mo ordered.

"Yes, Commander!"

"Storm Fleet is now entering synchronized warp mode. All first-level genetic warriors, please engage deep-sea protocol. The fleet is moving out!" Hua Qin's announcement echoed across the fleet.

During the journey, Feng Mo entered the virtual Star Network, appearing in a luxurious private suite where Chu Yunjian awaited anxiously. He pulled her into his lap, gently holding her as he spoke. "I kept you waiting, didn't I? I'm sure you're aware of the current situation in the Federation. It's not looking good. Uncle Gu presented me with three options, but in reality, only one was viable."

"Did you choose the noble houses?" Chu Yunjian asked, her concern evident.

"Of course," Feng Mo replied. "That's my foundation. If a person can easily betray their roots, they're bound to meet a miserable end."

Chu Yunjian sighed in relief. "So, the task is to eliminate the Bai family in advance? Do you need me to lead a Chu family fleet to help you wipe them out?"

Feng Mo pinched her nose playfully. "Have a bit more faith in your future husband, will you? The Storm Fleet is already en route, and the Hurricane is ready for its maiden battle. This operation will be its trial run."

Chu Yunjian blushed, her eyes filled with affection. "I guess I was just worried. My man is the strongest in the Federation, maybe even the whole universe. How else could you have conquered me?"

"Oh really? Are you sure about that?" Feng Mo teased. "Wasn't it you sneaking into my room at the White Hole Base that time, stealing kisses while I slept? Shameless woman!"

Chu Yunjian's face turned beet red, and she pounded his chest with her small fists. "You're the worst! My elders asked me to tell you that you have their full support. Do whatever you need to, and they'll ensure you're well-compensated afterward."

Feng Mo nodded, reassured. With this promise from the Chu family, he could confidently act as the vanguard and even receive substantial rewards afterward. This could also help him mend relations with the military by compensating for any friction.

The Storm Fleet warped through interstellar space and arrived at the U3 System, where the star gate was under military control. The fleet encountered a security checkpoint, but once Feng Mo presented his noble badge, they were allowed to pass.

Crossing the star gate, the Storm Fleet successfully reached the Windmill Star System. With the Hurricane now serving as the flagship, the fleet had significantly increased in strength, no longer fearing a typical T4 fleet.

When they arrived at the Bai family's homeworld, the Bai family had assembled over a thousand warships in front of their starport, including their elite T4 fleet: 73 T4 ships and one T3 missile cruiser. Their flagship was a T4 Vulture-class battleship, with most of the T4 ships being Lynx-class destroyers and Black Rhino-class frigates. The remaining nine hundred ships consisted of a mix of T3 and T2 vessels.

This was the full might of the Snowhawk Bai family, mobilized to defend their ancestral world with everything they had. They had been given a rousing speech and were prepared to fight to the death.

Aboard the Vulture-class battleship's bridge, Bai Yanbing was in a tense conversation with Qiao Lao.

"So, you're saying that if we defeat Feng Mo's Storm Fleet, the Qiao family will intervene and broker a deal for our survival?" Bai Yanbing asked, sounding hopeful yet desperate.

Qiao Lao had thoroughly misled Bai Yanbing, feeding him false hope. The Demon Star System had promised to send reinforcements in a month, but the situation for the Bai family had deteriorated rapidly. First, rumors spread of the Bai family's attempted secession and plans to establish a new kingdom. Then, word leaked of their illicit dealings with the Demon Star System, leaving Bai Yanbing reeling.

Now, Qiao Lao had proposed a showdown between the Bai family and the Storm Fleet, emphasizing that victory would secure their survival. He even provided Bai Yanbing with information on the Storm Fleet, though it conveniently omitted details about the Scorpion stealth bombers and the quasi-T5 Hurricane.

"That's right," Qiao Lao lied smoothly. "Defeat the Storm Fleet, and the Qiao family will step in to mediate. I've even arranged for Feng Mo's fleet specs to give you an edge. Victory is within reach."
