Not only did the atmosphere scream, 'Sailors are welcome here!' but the rowdy interior also enhanced that image.

The air was thick with the familiar aroma of ale and the tantalizing scent of freshly cooked seafood. The warm glow of flickering candlelight illuminated the room, casting dancing shadows on the wooden beams that crisscrossed the ceiling.
