Kapitel 17: Chapter 17: A Changing World

Selene drops her head, trying not to look at the two wolves in front of her. She slows her breathing in an effort to keep her heart from jumping out of her chest.

The smaller of the two wolves moves closer to Selene. “It’s a silver wolf, Frank. She flew down from the sky. Did you see it, Frank?”

The other wolf moves closer, shaking his head. “Of course I saw it, Twitch,” he replies while patting the other wolf on the head with his paw. “She didn’t fly, she jumped from that tree down there.”

Selene doesn’t know what to do. She keeps trying to avoid looking at them, but the closer they get the less of a threat they seem to be.

The little one, Twitch, keeps stepping into her line of sight. Selene turns her head every time, but it’s almost as if he thinks she’s playing with him.

“What are you doing?” Twitch asks.

Selene looks around, hoping Sparrow and Onyx hurry up. “I don’t want any trouble,” she finally says.
