Kapitel 39: Strength gained from pilgrimages

Life is a journey. Wherever we are in life, at the forefront of our minds is always the next step. As the 12 step Fellowship motto goes 'it's one step at a time'.

John's first proper pilgrimage was to Lourdes in 2008. This is an amazing place, where the Mother of God appeared to St Bernadette at the water spring. Now thousands of people pilgrimage to here to receive healing from the same water that flows out of the Holy mountain side. There are countless healing miracles that do not have a rational explanation. John felt embarrassed during the retreat, because at the time he was 17 and with his father. His state of mind meant that he simply wanted to hide away during this retreat, and did not partake of the full immersion for healing that many receive.
