Kapitel 10: The Final Push

The battlefield at Marineford was a hellscape of chaos, but for Luffy, everything had narrowed down to one goal: Ace. His brother was still chained to the execution platform, surrounded by the most powerful forces the Marines had to offer. But Luffy's determination had never been stronger. His body screamed in agony from the strain of Gear 5, but his will was unshakable.

Behind him, Whitebeard stood tall, his massive frame casting a long shadow over the battlefield. The old pirate's bisento was raised high, ready to clash with Admiral Akainu. The heat from Akainu's molten fists radiated outward, but Whitebeard wasn't backing down. His eyes blazed with fury and the raw power of a man who had been a king of the seas for decades.

"Akainu," Whitebeard growled, his voice deep and menacing. "You and your so-called justice will fall today."

Akainu snarled, his molten fists dripping with lava as he prepared to charge. "Your era is over, Whitebeard. I'll put you in the ground where you belong."

As the two titans prepared to clash, Luffy turned his attention to the execution platform. His body trembled from the strain of Gear 5, but he couldn't afford to stop. Ace was so close now. He could see the desperation on his brother's face, the weight of the chains keeping him bound.

But Luffy also saw something else. Garp, his grandfather, was still standing near the platform, his massive frame hunched over in silent turmoil. Garp's fists were clenched tightly, and his face was a mask of anguish. Luffy knew Garp's loyalty to the Marines was in conflict with his love for his grandsons. Garp wouldn't interfere, but his presence alone was a reminder of the family bond that held them all together.

Beside Garp stood Fleet Admiral Sengoku, who watched the battlefield with a calculated gaze. He knew the Marines couldn't afford any missteps. Everything had to go according to plan.

"Sengoku," Luffy muttered under his breath. The Fleet Admiral would be another obstacle, but Luffy had no time to hesitate. He had to reach Ace—no matter what.

With a sudden burst of energy, Luffy charged forward. His rubber body stretched and twisted as he launched himself toward the platform. Marines tried to intercept him, but his observation haki allowed him to predict their moves before they could even strike. His body dodged and contorted, avoiding their attacks with the fluidity of Gear 5.

"Get out of my way!" Luffy roared, his voice echoing across the battlefield.

In an instant, Luffy's fists expanded to enormous sizes, coated in advanced armament haki. His muscles bulged as he swung his fists downward, crashing into the ground with the force of a meteor. The Marines around him were thrown into the air, their defenses shattered by the sheer power of Luffy's attack.

"Gomu Gomu no... Gigant Gatling!" Luffy bellowed, his fists moving so fast they became a blur of destruction.

Sengoku's eyes narrowed as he saw Luffy closing in on the platform. His hands glowed with the power of his Buddha fruit as he prepared to intercept. The Fleet Admiral wouldn't allow Luffy to get any closer to Ace.

"I won't let you free him, Straw Hat Luffy," Sengoku said, his voice calm but filled with authority.

Luffy's heart pounded in his chest, but he refused to be stopped. "I'm not stopping until Ace is free!" he shouted, his fists tightening.

Sengoku's massive Buddha form glowed with golden light as he raised his hand, preparing to crush Luffy. The ground beneath them trembled as the Fleet Admiral brought down his hand with devastating force.

But Luffy's observation haki flared, and he saw the attack before it even happened. His body twisted and contorted, dodging Sengoku's blow by mere inches. His eyes were locked on Ace, his determination unyielding.

Sengoku scowled, preparing for another strike, but before he could react, a loud voice boomed across the battlefield.

"Stay out of this, Sengoku!"

Sengoku turned just in time to see Garp stepping forward. The old Marine's fists were clenched, his expression hard and resolute. For a moment, the battlefield seemed to still as Garp faced his lifelong friend and superior officer.

"Garp..." Sengoku said, his voice low, filled with tension.

Garp's face was stone, but his voice rang out loud and clear. "Let him through," Garp said firmly, stepping forward. "I'll fight him personally."

Luffy's eyes widened in shock as his gaze met his grandfather's. He had expected Garp to remain conflicted, torn between his duty as a Marine and his love for his grandsons, but this... Garp was choosing to face him head-on.

"Gramps..." Luffy whispered, his voice filled with disbelief.

Sengoku's eyes narrowed, his frustration visible, but he knew that Garp wasn't backing down. Garp's will was like an immovable force, and even the Fleet Admiral knew better than to question Garp's decision.

"Garp, this isn't the time for personal matters," Sengoku said, his voice tight with authority. "Stand down or—"

"I said I'll handle him," Garp interrupted, his voice filled with an unshakable resolve. "If anyone's going to stop him, it'll be me."

Luffy's heart pounded in his chest, the tension between them thick enough to suffocate the battlefield. Garp was serious—he wasn't going to let anyone else intervene.

For a moment, Garp's eyes softened as he looked at Luffy, his grandson. "You've come far, boy," Garp said, his voice quieter now. "But I can't let you free Ace without a fight."

Luffy's fists tightened, his heart aching. He knew Garp loved him and Ace, but the weight of Garp's duty as a Marine was too heavy for him to ignore. This was the moment where their bonds as family clashed with their roles in this war.

"If I have to fight you to save Ace..." Luffy began, his voice shaking but resolute. "Then I will!"

The tension between Luffy and Garp was palpable, a clash of family bonds and duty playing out on the battlefield of Marineford. The roar of the ongoing war around them seemed to fade as grandfather and grandson stood face to face, the weight of the moment bearing down on both of them.

Luffy's heart ached. He had always looked up to Garp. His grandfather had trained him, raised him to be strong, and instilled a sense of toughness that shaped him into the person he was today. But now, Garp stood in his way, not as family but as a Marine determined to uphold his duty. Luffy's fists clenched tighter as the reality of the situation settled in—if he wanted to save Ace, he would have to go through the man who had been his mentor, his protector, and his grandfather.

"Gramps..." Luffy said, his voice low but trembling with emotion. "I don't want to fight you."

Garp's face was unreadable, his eyes shadowed by the brim of his Marine cap. But when he spoke, his voice was clear and unwavering. "You've come far, Luffy," Garp said, his tone heavy with the weight of years of experience. "But family or not, I can't let you get through me without a fight. Not while I'm still a Marine."

Luffy's chest tightened. The pain in his heart was overwhelming, but the thought of Ace—still chained, still helpless—drove him forward. His advanced observation haki buzzed in his mind, but even with his haki senses, this battle felt different. Fighting an enemy like Akainu or Kizaru was one thing, but standing against Garp was a battle of wills, not just fists.

"Gramps..." Luffy's voice wavered, but he straightened himself, his body crackling with the chaotic energy of Gear 5. "If you stand in my way, I'll beat you! I won't stop! I'm going to save Ace!"

Garp's face hardened, though a flicker of sadness passed through his eyes. "That's what I expected you to say, boy."

Without another word, Garp launched himself forward, his massive fist raised high. Luffy's observation haki flared, and in that instant, he saw the strike coming. But Garp's speed and strength were still incredible, even in his old age. The force behind Garp's punch sent a shockwave across the battlefield, and Luffy had to twist his body, bending it in a way only Gear 5 would allow, to narrowly avoid the blow.

Luffy's heart raced, the power of Garp's punch a reminder of the harsh training he had endured as a child. But now, this wasn't training. This was a real battle, and the stakes couldn't have been higher.

"You've gotten stronger, Luffy," Garp said, his voice gruff but filled with a strange mix of pride and sorrow. "But let's see if you've gotten strong enough."

Luffy gritted his teeth, pushing aside the emotional weight of the fight. His body snapped back into place, and he launched himself toward Garp, his fists coated in advanced armament haki. "I'm not the same as before, Gramps!" Luffy roared as his haki-infused fist shot toward Garp.

But Garp wasn't easily fazed. His own fists glowed with armament haki as he met Luffy's punch head-on. The collision sent a shockwave through the air, and for a moment, both fighters stood locked in place, their haki clashing in a battle of pure willpower.

The impact of the clash rippled across the battlefield, drawing the attention of Marines and pirates alike. Even Sengoku, who had been overseeing the execution, glanced toward the battle with narrowed eyes.

"Garp..." Sengoku muttered, his voice filled with understanding. "This is hard on you, isn't it?"

But Garp didn't falter. He pushed back against Luffy's attack, his face set in a grim expression. "You've become strong, Luffy," Garp said, his voice strained but filled with pride. "But I won't let you go so easily."

Luffy's heart pounded as he pushed harder, his body twisting in ways that seemed impossible. The chaotic nature of Gear 5 allowed him to move unpredictably, and as his body contorted, he slipped past Garp's defense, his leg expanding as he swung it upward.

"Gomu Gomu no... Gigant Axe!" Luffy shouted, his leg coated in haki as it came crashing down toward Garp.

Garp's eyes widened, and for a moment, he faltered. The emotional weight of fighting his own grandson was evident in his hesitation. But Garp wasn't a Marine hero for nothing. His arm shot up, coated in haki, and he blocked Luffy's strike, though the force of the blow sent cracks splintering across the ground beneath him.

Luffy landed, panting heavily. His body was screaming for rest, the toll of Gear 5 pushing him to his absolute limits. But he couldn't stop. Not now.

Garp's chest heaved with exertion, but he stood tall, his face lined with regret. "Luffy..." he began, his voice thick with emotion. "You remind me of your father—of Dragon. You've got the same fire."

Luffy's fists clenched. He knew Garp was proud of him, even now. But he couldn't afford to let sentimentality stop him. Ace's life depended on this fight.

"Gramps, step aside!" Luffy shouted, his voice filled with desperation. "I don't want to hurt you, but I will if I have to!"

Garp's eyes softened for just a moment. "I know," he said quietly. "And that's why I'm proud of you, Luffy. But as a Marine... I can't let you win."

For a split second, Luffy's heart froze. But then something shifted. The air around them changed, and Luffy felt it—Garp's willpower wavering. The man who had been the unshakable rock of his childhood, who had drilled strength and discipline into him, was hesitating.

And that was all Luffy needed.

With a sudden burst of speed, Luffy launched himself forward, his entire body crackling with haki. His observation haki painted a clear picture of Garp's next move, and Luffy dodged to the side, slipping past his grandfather's defense.

"Gomu Gomu no... Jet Culverin!" Luffy roared, his haki-coated fist snapping forward like a whip.

Garp's eyes widened in shock, and for the briefest moment, the old Marine hesitated. Luffy's fist connected with Garp's chest, the impact sending the Marine hero crashing into the ground with a thunderous impact.

The battlefield seemed to fall silent as Garp lay still, breathing heavily but unmoving.

Luffy stood over his fallen grandfather, his chest heaving with exhaustion, his heart heavy with the weight of what he had just done.

"Gramps..." Luffy whispered, his voice trembling.

But Garp, despite the pain, smiled faintly. "Go on, Luffy," he said, his voice weak but filled with pride. "Save your brother. You've earned it."

Luffy's eyes burned with unshed tears, but he nodded, swallowing the lump in his throat. There was no time to dwell on the battle. Ace was still waiting.

Without another word, Luffy turned toward the execution platform and charged forward, his body moving with renewed energy. His path was clear now—nothing stood between him and Ace.

"I'm coming, Ace!" Luffy shouted, his voice echoing across the battlefield as he raced toward his brother, ready to break the chains and free him once and for all.
