Tommy's heart raced as he heard Benjamin call for the officer, his voice laced with a sense of urgency.

Desperation surged through him as he hid by the door, trying to make himself as invisible as possible. His fear for Darnell's safety grew with each passing second.

In the distance, Benjamin engaged in a conversation with the police officer, their voices carrying through the air.

"We should stop by the police department to provide an account of the altercation with that young gent," the officer suggested in a calm yet authoritative tone. "He was getting physical with you, correct?"

The officer's words sent a chill down Tommy's spine, and he held his breath, hoping that Darnell would be okay.

Benjamin scoffed, his face twisting in disdain.
