CHAPTER 15-THE SPIRIT TRIALS

Gibby-"WELCOME BACK EVERYONE ALL ANNOITED ARE IN PLACE LET THE TEST BEGIN."(CROWD GOES WILD)

Gibby announces; "FIRST TEST, THE PILLARS…first you must climb all the way up the 1,454-foot pillar. Once you get to the top there is a tablet there. You must fill in all missing parts of the scripture and place them in order. (Khayjin-"Noooo") Next you must jump on the metal reels that lead you down towards the next challenge. That is all for this challenge today. Rules are you cannot attack a fellow Anointed. Other than that, it's all up in the air. You are allowed to use your Anointing, and don't worry we have Healers waiting at the end of the course for healing if you're exhausted…Now let's beginnnnn!"

Anointed all stand on their circles, then huge pillars rise that are the size of a building. The entire arena reforms itself.

Khayjin- "Let's do this!"

Zeyta- "No fear."

Zesh- "Calm is key."

Sol- "Easy work."

Kayge- "Being the oldest Anointed, I must deliver."

Nobu- "Beat Khayjin and beat my brother."

Aza- "For you mom and dad."

Zane- "SLEEP"

RAIZA- "...."

"READY GOOOO!"

GIBBY- "I'm here with the lovely Ms. Kari. She will be giving her insights throughout the Spirit Trials."

KARI- "I'm honored."

GIBBY – "OK HERE WE GO, RAIZA DASHES FORWARD RUNNING STRAIGHT UP THE PILLAR LIKE A NINJA."

KARI- "OUUU THAT'S IMPRESSIVE! HE'S USING ULTIMATE DISCERNMENT."

GIBBY- "THE ZANE KID IS SLEEPING? NOT GOOD"

HELA- "WAKEEEE UPPP ZANEE"

GIBBY- "ZEYTA IS RUNNING UP THE PILLAR LIKE RAIZA. A FEW FEET BACK."

KARI- "Yeah that takes a lot of SE and SG, but they seem to have it down pact. Will the others do the same?

Gibby- "Oooo Nobu is using his Anno and has a vigorian flail that seems to be as a hook shot for himself. He is jumping up it seems.... Good old mountain climbing."

Kari- "Aza seems to be climbing with just two hammers? I mean she's going extremely fast."

Gibby- "Sol is now in first place. Using his huge sword as climbing assistance, he throws the sword up and bounces off it. Raiza right behind him."

Kari- "Khayjin is slowly walking toward the pillar now, he's touching the pillar, but not climbing, what's going on?"

"Come on Khayjin." She thinks to herself.

Vojim-"What is he doing Rouke?

Rouke- "He's smart, he's doing what we call slow but fast."

Vojim- "Hmmm, not sure I understand."

Rouke- "Khayjin's one weakness is he's not the brightest light bulb, but his strength is unmatched by anyone. He has a lot to still learn. So, I told him before the Spirit Trials use that strength to cover up the weakness."

Vojim- "Well he's far behind; hope it's a good idea."

GIBBY- "The update is, now Raiza is first followed by Sol, then Zeyta. Kayge fourth, Zesh fifth and Zane is still asleep. Khayjin hasn't started climbing, maybe he's nervous."

Kari- "Noo Khayjin come on."

Gavon- "Haha oooo he's got a trick up his sleeve just watch."

Kari continues announcing:

"KHAYJIN TOUCHES THE PILLAR AND SEES HOW FAR EVERYONE IS, HE THEN CALLS ON HIS ANOINTING AND PUNCHES HIS HAND INTO THE PILLAR LIGHTLY. HE PUTS HIS HAND IN THE HOLE HE MADE AND THEN HE GRABS IT AS IF HE'S HANGING FROM A LEDGE. HE THEN SAYS 'WIND PIERCE' ALL OF A SUDDEN UNDER HIM A SMALL WHIRLWIND STARTS TO SWIRL AND THE ENTIRE PILLAR AREA STARTS TO SHAKE. KHAYJIN THEN BENDS A LITTLE AND LIFTS OFF THE GROUND.....HERE WE GO. HE PUNCHES TOWARDS THE GROUND SENDING HIM STRAIGHT INTO THE AIR LIKE A ROCKET, FLYING UP THE PILLAR; SURPASSING EVERYONE AT A SUPER SPEED."

(everyone shocked) Khayjin looks at Rouke (crowd goes ballistic) As He lands on top of the pillar.

VOJIM- "Hmm impressive, now he's so far ahead of everyone it gives him more time to attempt to pass the trivia part. Which is his weakness."

ROUKE- "Precisely."

Vojim- "I must say that's very impressive."

Zeyta- "Wooooow, great job Khayjin."

"I gotta catch up." (thinking to herself)

Raiza- "This kid."

Sol- "Alright time to go crazy."

Zane -wakes up "What's all this cheering?"

Hela yells "Get up the pillllllllarrrrr Zaneee!"

Zane responds "Oooo no, it's a race? Anno Elijah chariot"-a flaming chariot comes out of nowhere it picks up Zane riding him up the pillar.

Hela- "Nooooo Zane you can only use that move like once a month, urghhhh this boy."

Adon- "Woahhhh that's awesome, he's riding a chariot. That's cool."

Hela- "It's not cool, he should have saved it for later. That boy is so hard-headed."

Kari- "Woooooo Khayjin, that was incredible!"

GIBBY- "Khayjin in the lead by at least fifteen minutes. Let's see what he does with the biblical trivia."

Khayjin- "Ok, let's start this tablet up."

Tablet005- "Hello I am bt5 I will ask you five questions; you must fill in the blanks."

Khayjin- "Is it multiple ch..."

Bt5- "No it is not multiple choice."

Khayjin- "Mannnnnn, OK let's go."

Bt5- "First question."

"Proverbs chapter three says, my -do-forget my -but-thine-keep my .."

Khayjin- "Ooooooo no this is bad IM GONNA FAILLLLLLL!"

Gibby- "Ok now we have Raiza, seems to be taking a commanding second place lead with Sol creeping in for spot number three. The others are pretty far behind. Look at this, Zane's chariot is going super-fast catching up."

Zesh – "Aza, do you see the chariot coming up?"

Aza- "Yes, why?"

Zeph- "Let's jump on the back of it."

Aza- "But isn't that cheating?"

Zesh- "No there were no rules beside attacking another with an Anointing. There wasn't a rule about catching a ride; this preserves our energy."

Aza- "Ok it's gonna pass us soon."

Zesh- "Three."

Aza- "Two."

Both – "One, nowwww!"

They jump and grab the back.

Aza- "Is the kid sleeping?"

Zesh- "Yea so it seems."

Kari- "Wowwwww that was impressive! They took a shortcut."

Adon- "No surprise there. Ark's students always gotta find a cop out." (shakes head)

Ark- "Say what you like, it's called strategy."

Hela- "HE'S ASLEEP AGAINNNNNN!"

Kari- "Looks like Nobu is going slow, still using his weapons to get to the top. He's currently in last place."

Raiza- "My pathetic brother, making us look bad." (sigh)

Adon- "Come on Nobuuuu."

Hela- "Calm down, he'll pull through even if he is in the bottom two."

Adon- (sigh)

Gibby- "Now it looks like Raiza is only three minutes away from Khayjin; this is intense."

Kari- "YEA KHAYJIN BETTER SPEED IT UPPPPPPP!"

GIBBY- "YOU OK, YOU'RE HYPERVENTILATING."

Kari- "I'm fine, sorry."

Khayjin- "Dang it, I need to get this right. I'm stuck on question five. I gotta get this, come on. Think of training, think of training, what did Rouke tell me? Come on. Come onnnnnn!"

Flashback-

Rouke- "When it comes to trivia, remember to ask God to open your mind. Use your holy spirit."

Khayjin- "So I don't really need to study? The holy spirit is a cheat sheet?"

Rouke- "Absolutely not. The bible says study to show yourself approved. You can't just not read, then ask the holy spirit. It can only remind you of what you know, not what you never knew."

Khayjin- (sigh) "Well I just need to focus and read that way it's almost like a picture memory."

Flashback ends-

Raiza gets to the top.

Khayjin- "Wassup cool boy, good luck on your questions."

Raiza- "I can already see you're an idiot. You cheated your way up and you're still letting everyone catch up, what a lame."

Khayjin- "Wow you're just upset you were beaten to the top. I don't care if everyone sees you as a prodigy, I don't. You're no different than us. You just had more time to train. Look at your brother struggling to get up here, you didn't even help him or talk. That's a sin itself. Too busy tryna boast and prove yourself."

Raiza- "My brother is weak, that's on him. God has given me a sound mind. I could care less what you think. Talk to me when you can kill a demon as powerful as the leaders. Or save thousands of others. You just stay within your city walls."

Khayjin- "I don't have time for you. I gotta finish. Wait! Sound mind. You said sound mind that's it. (FACES BT5) FOR GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND."

BT5- "CORRECT, TRIVIA COMPLETE. YOU MAY SKATE DOWN THE RAILS….."

KHAYJIN- "YESSSSSS THANKS HOLY SPIRIT SEE YOU LATER PFIZER HAHAHA!" (Khayjin jumps on the rail and the crowd goes crazy)

RAIZA- (sighs)

GIBBY- "KHAYJIN ON THE GO AGAIN GOING DOWN THE RAILS.!30 minutes left to complete the Trials

ZEYTA- "KHAYJIN IS SO GOOD!" (she arrives on platform)

Sol- (arrives on platform)

Kayge- (arrives on platform)

The chariot arrives on the platform and Zane wakes up.

Aza and Zesh run to their tablets. Everyone is there besides Nobu.

Five minutes pass.

Raiza- on question five

Zeyta- on question three

Sol- on question five

Aza- on question four

Zeph- on question two

Kayge- on question four

Adon- "Poor Nobu, come on buddy."

Raiza completes and jumps on rail and so does Sol.

Gibby- "Ok looks like Khayjin is four minutes ahead and the rail will end for him in about two more minutes, and he's done. Aza finished. Zesh finished right after. Zeyta finished. Zane finishes. Nobu arrives at the top of the tower. Everyone else is on the rails."

Nobu- "Whyyyyy? I'm not ready for this. I'm so sore, that drained me. I know my father is disappointed. I can see it in his face from here. I just gotta remember it's not a race. Ok let's get this trivia done. Let's see."

Question one done

Complete

Gibby- "Wowwwww Nobu completes the trivia in one minute. That's almost ten minutes faster than everyone else."

Adon- "Good job my son, good job."

Kari- "Looks like the rail is about to end."

Raiza- "Hmmm, time to show the rookie what it feels like to lose after all that work."

Raiza takes his staff out his back and spins it extremely fast causing a wind turbine behind him sending him zooming down the rails.

Gibby- "Woahhhhhhhhh Raiza is going down the rails fast catching up to Khayjin. Zeyta calls on her Anno and jumps off the rail crossing her swords to hang on to the rail as she flys down towards Raiza and Khayjin. Then Sol lifts his sword high and calls on a special move and swings at the air making him zoom forward. It looks like they're all gunning for the ending. This is amazing."

Kayge- "This won't be my challenge."

Aza- "I'm gonna speed up Zesh."

Zesh- "No, there's no reason. Like they said, it's not a race."

Aza- "Yea you're right."

Zesh- "That's all ego."

Zane- "See you later." (as he passed them)

Zeph- "Well we're definitely not coming in last."

Aza- "But you said.."

Nobu- "They're all so far ahead. Wait a minute, I have a plan. They said to get to the bottom of this, but they never said how. Hmmm, time to change things up…"

NOBU JUMPS OFF RAILS

(Everyone shocked)

Gibby-"OMG, I mean gosh he could miss the rail,what's he doing."

Adon- "He's thinking outside the picture." (now focus your landing)

Khayjin- "Everyone attempting to go for first. Raiza is about to pass me, I'm about thirteen seconds away. Ok I know what I gotta do."

Raiza- "At this rate I'm gonna pass him definitely."

Zeyta- "I don't think I can pass them."

Kayge- "This is too close to call."

ZANE- "This is awesome!"

Khayjin- "Ok wind pierce, I'm gonna punch the air behind me. That will send me zooming."

Gibby- "They're all right at the line. Who will it be, Nobu is dropping in."

Nobu- "WOAAHHH!"

Khayjin- "What the, Nobu's falling from the sky. Wait, he's gonna miss the rail and fall. Not good. Where did he come from?"

Kari- "Raiza, Khayjin, Sol, Nobu are all there."

Khayjin- "If I punch the air I'll win, but Nobu is gonna fall I gotta save Nobu over the win."

Nobu falls a little past the rail. Nobu misses and Khayjin grabs his hand.

(NOBU SHOCKED)

KHAYJIN- "YOU IDIOT WHAT WERE YOU THINKING. OOOO WELL GUESS YOUR GONNA WIN THIS ONE."

NOBU- "WHAT?"

Khayjin throws Nobu ahead of him at high speed onto the rail.

NOBU gets first

RAIZA gets second

SOL third

KHAYJIN fourth

ZEYTA fifth

ZANE sixth

ZESH seventh

AZA eight

Kayge nineth

(Everyone cheers)

Gibby- "Just like that, test number one is complete. They all have passed."

(Crowd goes wild)

Rouke- "Remarkable"

Vojim- "Hmmmmmm, truly impressive."

Hela- "That was phenomenal."

Adon- "Nobuuuuuuuuuu wonnnnnnnnnnnn!"

Ark- "Haha what a beginning!"

Kari- "Khayjin showed true sportsmanship."

Gibby- "Ok everyone. Test one is done, tomorrow is test number two. Thank you all for watching, see you all at the feast tonight…."

Nobu- "Wowwwww thanks Khayjin. You really helped me out there."

Khayjin- "No problem bro, that was fun."

Raiza- "As always, little brother, you need a handout to get over the hump."

Khayjin- "Leave him alone dude."

Sol- "He is kind of right. The goal is to complete the trial. Not get assistance to do it."

Zeyta- "Who cares, help is help. Sure, it doesn't matter, as long as we all completed it.

Kayge- "Absolutely, wonder what the next will be."

Zane- "I thought I won."

Khayjin- "I should have completed the trivia faster. If I did, this wouldn't have been close at all."

Raiza- "You took almost half an hour to complete your trivia, you're weak."

Khayjin- "How about I punch your daylights out."

Gavon- "Ok chill out bro. Bro good moves out there."

Gibby- "Indeed, great job young ones. Go get rest now, you will need it for tomorrow."

A Feast-

Khayjin, Zane and Nobu are tearing up some food.

"Heyyyyyyyy Zeyta over here, we got some turkey legs."

Zeyta- "Dear lord. Khayjin and Zane hanging together can never be good hahaha!"

Sol- "Hello Zeyta I saw you during the trials. That was incredible to see you have great skill to be able to run up the pillar seamlessly."

Zeyta- (Oooooooo he's giving me a complement. Hold it together Zeyta.)

"Uhh Umm" (clears throat) "Yea it was easy, just great focus and determination."

Sol- "I must see your sword skill."

Zesh- "Impressive seeing you use your swords as a jumping spring."

Sol- "Awwww yes. I saw you and your sister cheat by riding up Zane's chariot."

Aza- "Shut up, we didn't cheat. It was not part of the rules."

Raiza- "Doesn't matter, it's called respect and honor. You two have shown you're just desperate to get by the trials.

Aza- "How about we beef it out bro."

Zesh- "No no no violence, it proves nothing. All we should be focused on is how to complete trials while remaining friends. I hope we are all comrades and friends not enemies."

Khayjin- "I'm definitely a friend."

Zane- "Me too."

Kayge- "Me third."

Nobu- "So am I."

Raiza- "I'm not here to be friends. I just need to finish these trials."

Zeyta- "Raiza why are you here? Even if you pass the trials your heart seems so dark why even do these trials, if you just remain dark? You honestly seem more of a Cursed than an Anointed."

Raiza-?!!!!

Khayjin- "Come to think of it, your energy and vibes remind me of a Cursed we met named Kyll. He had such a blood thirst and malice, just seeing him made me tremble, not in fear but in worry. Worry of another lost soul. You give me the vibes of a Cursed."

Raiza- "You both have no idea of my path and journey."

Zesh- "Well you have no idea of everyone else's struggles. Raiza, you have no idea what anyone's been through yet. You can't even bother to see or show interest in others' lives. We're supposed to be like Christ."

Raiza- (sucks teeth) "I'm outta here." Raiza leaves.

Nobu- "Please forgive my brother guys. He's definitely cold hearted, but we have been through a lot in the past few years. Just continue to pray for him."

Kayge- "Yes, we will brother Nobu. Since I've known you and Raiza as brothers, he's always been an uppity character, but he is a warrior and he is one of the strongest Anointed on this continent. Just keep praying for him and let's all stick together. This is no competition, it's an approval in God's eyes."

Gavon- "Hahah look at the college student speaking to the high school students."

Tega- "Hahaha, my man Kayge is in the little leagues."

Kayge- "Come on you two, this was serious. Plus, the only reason I'm in the trials is because I have an Anointing you two don't..."

Zane- "Ooooooo roasted."

All laugh

Sol- "Don't worry Kayge I'm on the same boat. I feel I'm way too old for this trial myself. But God had his reasons. Let's just continue to be role models. For you all."

Aza- "Let's gooooo guys we're gonna finish these trials together."

Everyone cheers.
