Black fluid-like energy seeped from his body and hovered above his head like a cloud. As molten metal poured into a mould, it formed a long spear with exquisite design. Its shaft was pitch black with a scally design, making it look like the skin of a dragon. Unlike other weapons of its kind, the spear had no aura. The spearhead looked ordinary; looking closer, it had teeth like a saw, except they were so small you would not notice it if you did not pay enough attention.

Messages kept popping up in his head like an alarm.
<Name: Lin>
<Assigned Weapon: Spear [Evolvable]>
<Element Attributes: Lightening, Fire>
<Level: Retro Quint>
<Rank: -10>
Power filled Lin, and his wounds and broken bones healed. Black fire surrounded him, and black lightning crackled madly about him. "Huh… I think I understand now; how to make the energy balls at any point I want to without lifting a finger" Small black fire and lightning balls appeared near him and circled each other. He looked towards the battlefield, which was far from where he was. He still couldn't see anything apart from rays of light flashing about.
He grabbed the spear floating before him; it shrunk into an ornament on his wrist. The pressure of the battle was still acting against him, but it was minimal. He tried creating a fireball where the battle was occurring; it was futile. "Weird. I did understand how to do it, so why is it not working?" He tried again and again, but it still did not work. "Could it be that the distance affects how I create this energy ball?".
He tried creating one about ten meters away, and it manifested but lasted for only a short time before extinguishing, "As I thought. Distance does affect how I create and maintain it. The size is also another thing. I should be able to easily make them the stronger and more adept I become to using them. I will call them Orbs."
Meanwhile, Akrakus and the others had already noticed what was happening with Lin. "The kid is done. Time to get him out of here" Akrakus sent out several shadows of himself after the calamity beings, and in a flash, he was in front of Lin, "Time to get out of here kiddo. When you go, deliver this message to the Azeria castle…" he whispered something only Lin could hear which caused him to gasp and cover his mouth. He slowly shook his head, "No way", he said.
"I'm afraid so. I don't trust that you would get the message out, but you are the only one here right now who can leave this place as I'm about to seal it. Now go!" He gathered power and swung his sword at the approaching beings.
"Don't let him leave this place. If it comes to worse, we will use 'that'." Crystal shouted. Metal and Rock responded swiftly by charging towards Lin. "Like I'm going to allow you to do as you please", Akrakus yelled and stabbed the ground with his sword creating a series of cracks across the land. Several shadows crept out of the cracks and swarmed the three.
"Ugh! This guy is getting annoying. So much for just a wisp of his will." Crystal snarled and began to recklessly shoot crystal shards at Akrakus, trying his best to hold him back. "Now quick go, I will deal with him. That man cannot leave here", he ordered as he attacked Akrakus.
Rock stomped the ground, sending spiked rocks towards Lin. Shadows rose from the ground and defended Lin against the attack.
Lin, meanwhile, was covered in a cold sweat. "What the hell is this? Why would he hand such an important task to me? Damn it! This is not how I expected things to turn out, but if I don't do as he says, then the…".
"What are you still waiting for, you mutt? Get the hell out of here, through the cloud you came from", Akrakus yelled at him.
Without waiting for another second, Lin turned around and began to run as fast as he could. "If I can make fireballs float, then I should be able to make myself float with the same principle." Thinking so, he pushed his powers to the max and wrapped his entire being in flames. After taking a few more steps, he began to float, but only temporally. After two more tries, he released his powers and shot off into the air like a cannonball while struggling to balance himself.
Under the command of Akrakus, shadows kept popping out of the ground to slow down the calamity beings. "Why are you protecting that kid? From your interactions, you didn't even know him before today. Don't you know his presence is going to cause this world pain? Do you want what happened many years ago to repeat itself?" Metal asked while fighting his way through the hordes of shadows.
"I care less about the past, especially one that has anything to do with vile creatures such as yourself." Akrakus slashed towards it, but it blocked it, releasing a shockwave which levelled the surroundings. Akrakus followed up with a kick which sent it flying away like a rag and appeared behind Crystal, who was going after Lin. He grabbed it by the feet and, spinning like a pin top, hurled it into the ground. A deep crater appeared where it had landed, sending up a cloud of dust. "I was concerned about the kid's presence here, but now that he is gone, I am not holding back anymore. I am going to beat you and send you back into hibernation, you curse of man".
Realising they could never get past Akrakus with how things were panning out, they gathered and released high volumes of power. They appeared to be chanting, but no one could hear them. Their powers kept building when suddenly, the entire atmosphere changed from black to red. Akrakus immediately felt a crisis coming. His body began to shiver; his instincts told him if he did not stop them now, he will perish. "Blood Summon? These guys are crazy. Who do they want to bring here this time? If I don't stop this now, the kid might be unable to leave here."
The body of the three began to wilt as their blood seeped through all their orifices to form a new body which appeared before them like a red figure. Akrakus immediately realised he was losing control over the shadows he was commanding. "This power…Oh no, not him…" Akrakus' eyes immediately turned ghastly white. Without wasting any time, he lifted his sword, and shadows began to creep out across the land. He stabbed the sword into the ground and yelled, "ZIBAL!"
The sky roared with thunder and lightning as the entire ground began to bubble like a black viscous liquid. The shadows were all merging into each other. The projection of a shadowy man several meters tall appeared behind him. It began to lift its hands upwards in a clasping motion. The entire ground, several miles around the red figure began to cave in. The red figure lifted a hand to stop the attack, but the summon was incomplete; hence, it couldn't do much. It shifted its gaze towards the fleeing Lin and shot a red beam towards him.
As Lin was about to go through the cloud, he felt his back sting as a strong power struck his back before he could even react. The cloud dispersed, and space around him cracked open, pulling him inside. A few meters from the crack, stood Akrakus with a broken sword and an impaled chest. He released his powers into the crack in space to seal it. The entire land began to crumble due to his earlier attack. As the shadow's hands finally closed, the red figure exploded into a bloody mist, and the entire land turned black and exploded.
