Kapitel 46: Chapter Forty-five

♦Neruda's POV♦

"Why did I agree to play chess with you again?' Dane whines, staring at his deserted side of the board.

September just shrugs, Cameron's head is on her lap while the others are equally as invested in the game. "I don't know, maybe you thought that I'd be easy game." She grins, pushing his second bishop off the board. 

"Come on play." Selena goads. "I placed stakes on this."

Dane just glares at her. "You bet for me to lose." He accuses.

"And you're losing just fine babe, keep up the good work." She hypes him.

Dane just faced the chess board once more, beyond exasperated with his girlfriend.

I sit a little away from the circle, Arianna is sitting beside Cameron's prone body and Zach is beside her, they're talking softly.

I glance at my phone frequently, waiting for the text that'll tell me Cyril is okay and that he has gotten away from his leech of a mother.
