Kapitel 39: Get out of my house

As soon as I stepped out of Carmen's car, I felt a surge of emotions—anger, confusion, and a sense of being utterly lost. The words "Let's do a contractual marriage" kept echoing in my mind. Carmen's proposition seemed surreal, like something out of a twisted fairy tale. How could I even begin to consider such a thing?

I walked briskly up to my house, my thoughts swirling in a chaotic storm. When I reached the front door, I paused, taking a deep breath to steady myself. The familiar creak of the door as I opened it felt strangely ominous.

I stepped inside, immediately greeted by the sight of my mother and sister, Clara, waiting for me.

My mother's face was a mask of anger and disapproval, her lips pressed into a thin line. Clara, on the other hand, wore a smug expression, clearly enjoying the impending confrontation.

"Where have you been?" my mother demanded, her voice sharp.

I took a deep breath, trying to keep my composure. "I had a meeting."
