{A/N: MC/OC is extremely loyal to Akihiko Kayaba to a fanatical level and has been told what will happen to the players when the game releases. The first part of this chapter will also be written/formatted as if it's the diary entries of the MC}
===============
[3 days before release]
My name is Chinen Hisoka, and I am the head developer of Sword Art Online, aside from Akihiko Kayaba himself of course. I have been granted the great honor of maintaining Mr. Akihiko's masterpiece while he himself enjoys his hard work.
It is now just a few days before the full release of SAO will occur, and I have been given a special headset and copy of the game by Mr. Akihiko that will allow me to enter and exit the game at will. I can say with great confidence that we are both excited and expectant for the full release of the game, I myself cannot wait for his game to be beheld by all.
[2 days before release]
Today, Mr. Akihiko told me to do some last minute changes to some of the bosses from when the Beta testers were playing, just to take them by surprise. I think that this is a great idea and I will try my best to fulfill Mr. Akihiko's vision.
[1 day before release]
I'm really excited for tomorrow, I hope everything goes as planned, otherwise it would be a disaster! Mr. Akihiko told me not to worry though, as I can just fix things as problems arise, so that has eased my worries a bit.
Mr. Akihiko also told me to move to a top secret server location so that I'll be safe from the authorities while I manage his creation. So I've recently moved to somewhere in a remote area, where there are a lot of farms around. I've also said hello to my new neighbors so I don't seem suspicious.
{A/N This part will be longer than the previous "Diary Entries" as it will be describing the first day of release from the PoV of the MC}
[Day of Release]
It is finally released to the public today! I'm so excited to start working on it, I'm so tempted to join now, but Mr. Akihiko told me to join later in the afternoon, around 5, to join to allow more players to have joined and so I don't have to wait too long for Mr. Akihiko's big reveal to everyone!
It's almost time now, the clock says it's 4:47, oh how I wish time could just move faster so I can witness it all sooner... Oh, I've been thinking quite a while it seems, as it's already 4:59, time to join then!

====={A/N: PoV Switch to 3rd person}=====
As soon as Hisoka joins the game, he is amazed at all the ads.{A/N: jk, comment if you get the reference}
As soon as Hisoka joins the game, he is mesmerized by the worlds beauty, amplified by the fact that he knows he can enjoy every aspect of it without worry of dying. When he finally finishes looking around at the scenery, he changes his attention to all the players happily chatting and grouping up to level up quickly.
A strange smile creeps onto Hisoka's face as he imagines the despair they will all feel when they realize they cannot leave the game, but the smile quickly vanishes before anyone notices it, though nobody is paying attention to him in the first place. {A/N: Think of Hisoka from HxH's smile}
He then, after taking in his current surroundings, decides to wander around until Akihiko's announcement. As he wanders through the starting city, he sees many stores with NPCs trying to sell their goods and give quests, while there are also some players trading items with each other just for some Col. {A/N: Col (コル, Koru) is the currency of SAO}
By the end of his wandering, Hisoka finds himself at the outskirts of the city in an open field, where he sees two players, one seems to be trying to kill a boar, and failing miserably, and the other seems to be teaching them.
Hisoka decides to just watch as the player "fighting" the boar makes a fool of himself. After the player in black says something and the player in red dispatches the boar, the two players seem to notice Hisoka. The one in black doesn't seem to care, but the one wearing red calls out to Hisoka, "Hey! What 'cha doing standing there, are you mocking me too?!"
Hisoka decides to approach before answering, "No, no, I was simply observing your... interesting technique of fighting the boar," he says as he remembers the one in red getting hit in the crotch.
"... So you were mocking me," he deadpans. "Well, what are your names?" Hisoka changes the subject, "My name is Klein and this here is Kirito," he replies back.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Hisoka," Hisoka answers with a small, friendly smile. Klein then says "Hey, after this, I'm meeting up with some people I know from another game. Want to friend them, too? Of course, if you don't want to, that's okay. I'll introduce you guys another time."
{A/N: This part is pretty much taken directly out of the transcript because I'm lazy}
"Yeah sorry. Thanks," "No thanks," Kirito and Hisoka answer at the same time. "Hey that's my line. I'll repay you for this sometime…Mentally. Thanks so much man," he sticks out his hand "I'll see ya around."
"If there's anything else you want to know, just tell me," Kirito responds, "Yea I'll do that," Klein says as he waves goodbye.
But as he's about to log out, he stops, "Huh there's no button to log out"
"Look closer," Kirito says.
"No, it's not there," Klein affirms.
"At the bottom of the main menu…" Kirito opens up his screen.
"See its not there," states matter-of-factly.
"No, it isn't."
"Well, it's the first day out of beta. There are bound to be some bugs, I'm sure the server people are freaking out…"
"In a second, you will be, too. It's 5:25"
"My teriyaki mayo pizza and ginger ale!" Klein says in despair.
"Just hurry and call the game master master," Kirito tells Klein.
Klein doesn't seem to hear Kirito for a moment but replies, "My teriyaki mayo pizza and ginger ale! Huh? I tried, but nothing's happening. Is there any other way to log out?"
"No, if a player wants to log themselves out, they have to go through the menu," Kirito answers.
"That's nuts! There's gotta be some way. Return! Logout! Escape!" Klein shouts desperately.
"I told you. There wasn't an emergency logout in the manual, either."
"You're kidding right? I know. I'll just rip the NerveGear off my head…" Klein says as he attempts to pull of his NerveGear.
"You can't. We can't move our real bodies. The NerveGear intercepts anything we tell our bodies to do here."
"Seriously? So we have to wait for them to fix the bug?" Klein asks in a defeated voice.
"Or for someone in the real world to remove the NerveGear for us."
"But I live alone. What about you?"
"I have a mom and a sister. So they'll notice by dinnertime…"
Klein Runs over and grabs Kirito "H-How old's your little sister?"
"She's on a sports team and she hates games. She has nothing to do with people like us."
"That doesn't mea-" he gets kicked in the crotch and flies backwards. "Right, it doesn't hurt."
"More importantly, don't you find this weird?" Kirito asks.
"Sure I do, it's a bug," Klein answers cluelessly.
"It isn't just a bug, if we can't log out, that'll pose a serious problem for the game's future," Kirito elaborates.
"Come to think of it, you're right." Klein answers, finally realizing.
"If they wanted to, they could just shut down the server and log everyone out. But there isn't even an announcement…" As Kirito says this, a bell rings and they are transported to the Town Center.
Both also seemed to forget the presence of Hisoka, who was smiling almost maniacally. "And so it begins," he whispers, still smiling, and disappears, along with Kirito and Klein.
