Kapitel 9: Chapter 9/Interlude 2

POV Serafall

The migthy Maou Leviathan could be seen rolling on her bed while she was embracing a pillow.

"Uwah, now I did it," she was referring to the little kiss on Ryuu's cheek. Serafall has no idea what came over her, maybe it was a last endorphine rush from the pleasant time she had, allowing her to act upon her true feelings. Maybe it was the alcohol, who can say?

It is unclear when exactly Serafall started to have more than just affection for Ryuu. It probably started around the sixth year of his reincarnation and become a full blown crush a year later.

To be honest she felt rather uncomfortable with herself. After all she knew him since he was ten and they have decades between them. Alas as time went on, she couldn't help but feel more and more drawn towards him.

Over the past few years she has spent nearly all of her free time with Ryuu and his mother. Not that she had much of it in the first place.

Whenever she called for him he'd answer swiftly with a tray of her favorite cookies. They would chat, drink tea or listen to Ryuu playing his music.

Sometimes he would also tell them stories. Her favorite one so far was the story of Naruto which apperantly gave him the inspiration for his [Shadow Clone].

It also gave her ideas on how to use her ice magic better. She always tried to recreate the Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals of the Yuki clan.

It wasn't all that unreasonable for Serafall to fall for Ryuu considering just how much he had going for him. A balanced diet, hard training and puberty turned him into hunk standing proudly at a 5'11.

He had silky smooth black hair tied in a small ponytail. His hair always seemed to sit perfect even without him trying at all.

More than once, she found herself looking at it enviously since it seemed to be in an even better condition than her own hair and like every self respecting lady she does her very best to take care of it.

But she knew that aside from regularly washing himself, he didn't do anything to maintain it, which has her gritting her teeth with a murderous expression everytime she thinks about it.

On top of his beatiful hair, his tall and lean body, he has those golden eyes that just seem to peer right into your very soul. She sometimes finds herself staring into them, unable to draw herself away from them.

At times they seemed to gleam with an indescribable light which would always make her heartbeat speed up.

Aside from his looks, he's also highly intelligent and dilligent. Never satisfied with what he has and always striving to achieve more.

There are so many more good points she could think off, but she failed to realize that she was seeing him through a rose-tinted lens.

While Ryuu has many good points he wasn't without his flaws either. His eagerness for growth made him reckless at times. He tends to forget his surroundings during heavy research and those two are just minor flaws.

While Serafall was about to lose herself in thoughts about Ryuu someone knocked on her door, "Lady Leviathan, we have received urgent communication. It appeares that one of the younger devils has provoked trouble once again."

Not even a second after finishing his report the servant felt a chill emnating from the door. He could also see white mist coming through the slits and starting to freeze the surrounding hallway. He suddenly felt great pity towards the poor bastard who enraged his lady.

"I'm on my way," was all he heard. Deciding he was better of not facing his furious mistress he chose to go (flee) on ahead into her office.

While the servant was busy fleeing, the door to Serafalls room froze over. With a small flick from her rather delicate looking fingers the frozen door turned into small ice particles glistening in the air.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right now Serafall was not a happy camper right now, not at all.

Being the one in charge of communication and interaction with foreign factions and pantheons left her rather exhausted.

She always felt that her people were causing trouble just to spite her. It was as if they were causing trouble just to have "stay on her toes" and not "get cocky" just because she was named a satan.

She just had one of the best nights of her life bringing her an inner peace long forgotten and now some young master had to come in and ruin.

With a murderous expression she stepped into her office and looked for the teleportation circle. She stepped onto it and was seriously contemplating whether or not she should just kill the offender and offer his head as reparation for whatever he did.

A small burst of light later she found herself standing in what would look like a courtroom. To her left she could see her fellow Maous, the green-haired nerd Ajuka Beelzebub formerly known as Ajuka Astaroth, and Chief Advisor for the Technology Department.

By his side his best friend and the Crimson Satan, Sirzechs Lucifer formerly known as Sirzechs Gremory and the one in charge of Domestic Affairs.

Standing behind them looking very sleepy was the bald Maou Falbium Asmodeus, formerly known as Falbium Glasya-Labolas and the one in charge of Military Affairs.

In front of her were a bunch of rather arrogant looking old men lead by Zekram Bael, the leader of the so called Great King faction within the devil race. Yes, they thought it to be a good idea to split of into multiple groups or factions within their own race after barely avoiding a genocidal civil war.

Just thinking about it gave her another headache. Those bastards seized all the power under the portection of the oldest and most connected devil of the underworld. They keep doing whatever they want and always ask the four new satans to clean their asses.

Most people in the room just glanced at her for a second before returning to whatever they were doing before.

Meanwhile Sirzechs was about to greet his old friend, but decided to keep his mouth shut when he felt her boiling demonic energy together with the look on her face. Serafall was on a warpath and if they weren't careful she would probably freeze everyone who annoys her to death.

Ajuka and Falbium too felt something was wrong with Serafall but didn't dare to voice their thoughts. They just watched her joining them silently.

Around five minutes later a bunch of devils lead by what could be referred to as a sleazy nobleman came into the courtroom. When everyone stepped in and the door was closed the seemingly casual atmosphere in the room changed.

While no one in the Great King faction took this trial seriously they had to keep up appereance. And thus began some introductions of the people present. A very proud and haughty bunch, but Serafall was able to hold herself.

After a seemingly never ending and wasted amount of time later they suddenly approached the reason of why the young devil, who turns out to be the son of the sleazy nobleman, is here.

"Defendant Iolava Amon, you've been called for a trial after the council received a complaint from the Shinto pantheon. How do you plead?" (A/N: no idea how a trial goes, I'll try to keep it as simple as possible)

With a cocky smirk on his face the young devil said in a bored tone, "not guilty". Which prompted a "bullshit" to escape from Serafalls lips.

Iolava just grinned at her with a lustful smile and said, "my, my, if it isn't Maou Leviathan what brings you here on this beaut-."

Before he could continue his nonsense he was frozen by a livid Serafall. Not only did this trash dare to cause trouble outside, but he also dared to look at her with such indeceny.

While her fellow satans and council members were busy gaping at what just happened, the sleazy nobleman stood up and run (rolled) towards the now frozen statue of Iolava and screamed, "Son! Bitch who the f*c-."

Before he could finish, he too was frozen over. One of the council members couldn't hold himself anymore and screamed in a demanding tone, "do you have any idea what you've just done?!".

It took her every last bit of self control not to freeze this councilman's body. She looked at him with a murderous expression and said, "my job. Deliver those two statues and all of their wealth as reparation for whatever he did, that's an order."

She didn't even give anyone time to ask anymore and just teleported back into her office. The three maous and councilmen were left gaping.

That wasn't anything like the lady Leviathan they'd gotten to know over the past few years. It was as if Serafall Sitri, one of the leaders of the Anti-Satan faction was back.

While this gave a rise for concern to most Sirzechs chimed in to smooth things out. "Dear councilmen while I apologize for what Serafall did, but you should remember how that young devil dared to look at her. We have had devils executed, under your orders who did much less than that."

Indeed, they had seen the looks that brat dared to give lady Leviathan. In a way that could be considered courting death. While the councilmen sighed in relief missing the underlying threat, Zekram Bael only thought, "interesting."

He felt there was more behind Serafall's actions and he'd need to observe her for the time being.
