All the household chores at Jingxiang Pavilion were done by Xiaobing; she just needed to take care of Xiang Yimo, and now that Xiang Yimo was still asleep, she had nothing else to do.

Zhong Lingling entered the study, picked up a book, and casually noticed an open book on the desk.

She smiled, didn't think much of it, and put the book from the desk back onto the bookshelf.

She chose a novel and returned to the master bedroom to read by the bedside.

The reason she chose to read in the master bedroom instead of the study was that she worried if she got engrossed in the book and didn't notice if Xiang Yimo woke up, it would be problematic.

Zhong Lingling had read about a dozen pages of the book when she suddenly felt something was off.
