The air blurred around Rémy, and suddenly, in his place was the biggest wolf Ian had ever seen. “Shifters are real! You’re a wolf shifter. Rémy Clavier, don’t you think this was something I should have known? You waited until Mr. Big downstairs told you to do it. I can’t believe you never told me!” Ian shouted. Ian closed his body off by bringing his knees up to his chin. The air blurred around Rémy’s wolf.

“You’re my mate. A loup-garou only has one mate, and it’s his duty to hunt for him. I didn’t want to scare you away. Sean didn’t know it, but he was half loup-garou. That’s the name of our people. Often our mates come from the human population.”

Ian whispered, “You should have told me.” Then he got up a head of steam. “Is there anything else you’re hiding from me? You liedto me.”

“I never lied,” Rémy defended himself.

“It was a lie of omission.” Rémy got on his knees in front of Ian.
