The next day, Ember went through her exercises without saying a word and even though pain shot through her, she merely gritted her teeth sweating through it.
"Ember," Cacy asked after calling a halt for the day. "Is something bothering you?"
Ember glanced over at her wiping her face with the towel she had bought down with her and catching the haunted look in Cacy's green eyes that hadn't disappeared from yesterday, she smiled and shook her head. "No, Doc, I'm just following the doctor's orders without complaining," she teased getting a light growl from Cacy.
"Are you sure?" Cacy asked with a narrowing of her eyes.
"I'm sure," Ember assured her with a single nod of her head. "I want to get my leg back to its original mobility, or as close to the way it was before the attack. The best way to do that is not complaining and doing my exercises."
