Lexa awoke with bleary eyes, still tired from the chaotic events of last few days along with the general stress that comes with sitting in a carriage all day has to one's physique. As the blurry sights in front of her converge into recognition, Lexa is reminded that they had arrived at the Wilderwolf estate last night.
Remembering the shock she had at seeing Falcon City for the first time, Lexa let out a laugh. To put it simply, Falcon City was incomparable to the other cities she had seen so far; much larger and grander than both Evergale City and Skyview City combined. Large ivory walls shaped the city in a perfect circle, with grand and overbearing towers every ¼ mile. Thousands of houses, streets coloured in bold colours, large overarching buildings with intricate architecture and several workers working to keep the buildings well kept. This city could not be anything else but a capital city.
Lexa noticed that the walls didn't just encase the city, but there were also four extensions that cut into the city and met up at roughly the centre of Falcon City. These walls seemed to split the city four parts, which Andria had explained to her were the four quadrants of the city. The North was the noble's district, the West the Magician's district, the South the Civilian's district and the East the Trade district.
Fair to say, Lexa's group went straight to the Noble's district upon arrival into the city. It was there where they also split apart from the people of Hawk Academy, which wasn't easy due to Andria's breakdown into tears. Lexa could only sigh helplessly at that memory. It took a large amount of coaxing from herself and Sandra to finally get her to stop while Jared stood by the side nervously tried to speak up but never did and Seph just stood by aloofly; however a trace of a smirk played on his lips and when it was time to leave, he waved Lexa and Andria goodbye with his two friends.
'Looks like she's already up.' Lexa's thought as she returned to the present, her eyes searching the bed she had been lying asleep upon. It was a queen-sized bed, coloured in a light pink with white roses drawn upon it. 'She really is a bundle of energy, already up and about already.'
Leaping down from the bed, Lexa sauntered over to the door of the bedroom, the soft carpet beneath her feet so comfy that she struggled to not just crawl back to sleep for a little longer. However, the sun was shining, meaning it was already midday and Lexa had been told by Alexander that he wanted their family Pet Tamer, a man called Jermine to have a look at her to try to find out more about her. Lexa also heard that she might be able to get a few Magical Items during this time so she was rather excited, enough to pave off her beauty sleep a little longer and incite her into a sprint.
The halls of the Wilderwolf estate were as fancy as the building was huge, decorations littered the walls of pictures and flowers in vases, spreading an earthly and pleasant aroma that entered her beady nose as she ran.
"Oh!" A sound of exclamation sounded as Lexa darted beneath the feet of a passing servant woman who only saw the cat running off behind her and around a corner. Letting out a little giggle, the servant woman shouted for the cat to be careful before returning to her duties. All of the servants had greeted their masters upon their return, so they had all met Lexa and knew she was their Young Misses' new Tamed Beast.
Its fair to say, many men and woman alike were squealing in delight secretly at the prospect of having such a cute cat in the estate.
Soon enough, Lexa arrived at a wide double door at the end of the hall, and using her aura to reach up to the handle, she pulled down on it and opened the door to reveal a large room with a large, elongated table at the centre and several seats surrounding it. There, Lexa found the people she had been looking for picking away at their morning meal.
"Lexa!!" Andria shouted in glee, waving her hands at the new arrival. She was dressed in a loose purple gown and Lexa was surprised to see that her already short hair had been cut even shorter.
"Good morning, please have a seat." Alexander also greet her before requesting a meal for her as well from a nearby servant, who responded dutifully and walked off to a side room which likely lead to the kitchen.
Leaping upon the seat opposite Lexa and next to to Alexander on the head seat, Lexa looked at Andria and her new haircut with a weary glance.
"Hmm?" Andria picked up on Lexa's awkwardness and it didn't click until a second later as she grabbed lightly onto a strand of her blond hair that didn't even reach her shoulders and spoke with a shy smile. "Andria heard when you go through bad times, woman often cut their hair to start off anew... Or so Aunt Lea told me. Andria kinda likes it, don't you?"
Looking into the hopeful eyes of her partner, Lexa didn't hesitate to say. "You look beautiful."
Andria broke out into a beautiful smile and by her side, Alexander also smiled as looked at her, his gaze clearly one of pride and love. But before he could dote on those emotions for too long, he turned his gaze to the cat who had just been given his meal of meatballs and milk.
"We'll be heading off to the Tamer Building after this meal, which is just a little building outside of the main house and only a few dozen steps away. We'll have Jermine look at you there." Alexander explained before taking another spoonful of his veg-filled soup.
"Hmm!" Lexa nodded passively in agreement, her attention not really in the conversation as she devours meatball after meatball, her tongue enjoying the pleasure of a firework of taste. 'These rich folk really get to enjoy good food. That reminds me why I always used to stake out rich folk in my previous life, even their throwaway food was better... And more plentiful at that.'
After their morning meal, Lexa and Andria joined Alexander as they took the small journey to the Tamer Building and upon arrival, Lexa couldn't help the side of her lips twitching upon sight of the building.
'What did Alexander call this building? Little?!' Lexa lamented. While not as large as the main Wilderwolf house, the Tamer Building was probably five times the size of the average civilian house...
Before they could even enter the building, the front doors were slammed open and an eccentric laugh bellowed out as a shadowed shape sauntered into view, it took several seconds for the glare of the sun to subside and give Lexa a good view of this weird fellow...
Volume 4 begins!!
I've been wondering what my readers favourite volume has been so far?
Personally, Volume 3 has been my favourite, if not hardest to write. I felt I really got to go more into both the slice-of-life elements of the series and action parts of the series in more depth in Volume 3 and I really enjoyed writing Andria's dialogue. That's just what I liked though and I'm really intrigued what my viewer's favourite parts, so feel free to comment :D
