I spent the next week learning the language the old man taught me. It took a very short period of time to learn an entirely new language but I chalked it up to my adaption skill. To teach me the language the old man repeated words over and over and would point out things that they mean't.
For example on the third day, he brought in a man, a woman, and a child and pointed toward them while repeating one word. The word was family, and while it only took me a week to learn the language it was difficult, to say the least. I had no way to translate what the words were into English, except for when he pointed at things indicating what the words were.
I could now speak the language rather fluently however for them not to get suspicious I kept up the act that I didn't understand the language all that well. It worked because the old man was still teaching me the language.
Other things have changed as well since I arrived in the tiny village such as them giving me a tent. Though I had to set it up, and I wasn't allowed to hunt either. The reason is quite simple really, and that was that "I couldn't speak their language". It wouldn't be good to hunt with someone who you can't communicate with as it could result in people getting killed.
They still didn't trust me enough to let me walk around the others, which is understandable. If I did walk around there would be two of the men who would watch me with spears in hand. That was also understandable, and I didn't mention this before but the coat they gave me before goes down to my knees and closes at my torso. They were also generous enough to give me proper fur pants but I still kept the thing on my waist I had before.
Time Skip: one year
In this past year, I came to fully understand the language, in the people's eyes anyway. They now also allowed me to hunt with them, though I held back my strength to those of normal human levels. I was also allowed to walk around the others without being watched, and they were a total of fifteen people, the old man who I learned is the village elder and chief, five men, four women, and five children.
In my human form, I slowly aged it, I couldn't control my age, no, but I shapeshifted the appearance of my human form into a slightly older version. This was to keep the illusion that I was human and I hadn't mentioned this before because I didn't think of it at the time but I appear to be in my twenties.
To be precise not counting the past year, my human form was twenty-one but now my human form is twenty-two. I also became quite good friends with one of the men and his family during my time here. I might even call him my best friend really, and his, well, mate which is what he said his wife was.
It is his wife but that term doesn't yet exist so they refer to each other as mates which took me some getting used to. Anywho his mate is a really nice person and so is their daughter as well. Their names were Anna who was his daughter, Alex was my friend, and his mate Sophia.
Alex looked to be in his thirties so did his mate, and his daughter was around eight. I can't be sure of their ages and time isn't counted like that, how I was able to keep track of time was counting the days. It might be off a bit but I have been counting time like this for a while now.
The tribe of humans don't stay in a single place for long, they move depending on where there might be more animals. To not waste meat they only kill how many animals they need at the current time. The reason they do this is that you can't really refrigerate food at the moment without salt, which isn't available to these people.
During this past year, I also trained my telekinesis though not a lot as I was focused on living with these people. I managed to get it to level four, and with that, I can probably lift the two logs from before with very minimal effort.
Also currently I'm sitting in my tent making another spear for myself made of bone. The reason it's made of bone is that these people haven't seen trees so they make their weapons out of animal bones. I had to make another one because I broke the last one when I tried to kill an animal but the spear snapped.
Speaking on the subject of hunting, it's almost time to hunt again. We hunt every day in the morning, so there is light for however long we end up being out there.
"Ion, it's time to hunt!", I heard Alex yell from outside my tent but it's more like a teepee.
"Coming!", I yelled back as I finish my spear and walk out of the teepee prepared for a hunt.
(A/N - someone mentioned this and I had teepee's in mind when I wrote the villagers lived in tents, so from now on they will be mentioned as teepees).
Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
Only 879 words (not counting the author's note) this time but hey two chapters in one day, well technically I had chapter eight finished yesterday but it was late so I released it today.
