Kapitel 5: Chapter 5: Memories of Tokyo

The night was quiet in Ebonwood, a stark contrast to the never-ending bustle of Tokyo. As Simha sat under the stars, the memories of his past life as Satoru came flooding back. He remembered the warmth of his grandmother's house in the countryside, where he spent his childhood holidays away from the city's concrete and steel.

Those days were filled with the simple joys of life—waking up to the crowing of the rooster, the smell of the earth after a gentle rain, and the taste of freshly picked vegetables from the garden. His grandmother, a wise woman with hands that told stories of hard work and a heart full of love, had taught him the ways of the land.

"**Satoru, my boy, nature is our greatest teacher,**" she would say as they planted seeds in the garden. "**Watch and learn. The earth gives us what we give to it.**"

Those lessons had stayed with him, buried deep in his heart, even as he traded the open fields for the cramped quarters of an office. He had promised to return to her, to the peaceful life of the countryside, but the demands of his job as a salaryman had stolen that dream away. The overtime, the deadlines, the relentless pace of the corporate world had kept him from visiting his only guardian in her final years.

Now, as he gazed upon the fertile fields of Ebonwood, he felt a pang of regret. His grandmother had passed away alone, her final days spent waiting for a grandson who never came. The guilt weighed heavily on him, a burden he could never shed.

But in this new world, in this new life, Satoru—now Simha—had a chance to honor her memory. The agricultural knowledge she had imparted to him was now the key to Ebonwood's revival. The waterwheel, the canals, the new crops—all were a tribute to the lessons learned at her side.

As the cool night air brushed against his fur, Simha made a silent vow. He would not let the past define him. He would use the regrets of his former life to fuel his determination to build a better future for Ebonwood. His grandmother's teachings would live on through him, through the village he would raise from the ashes.

And perhaps, in the thriving fields and the laughter of the villagers, he would find a measure of peace, a way to make amends for the promises unkept. Ebonwood would be his redemption, his way of saying a belated farewell to the guardian who had shaped him into the leader he had become.
