Third-Person POV:
Hurray! I really got night vision, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Just wait and watch how I conquer my target. Hehe!
While Sara was busy examining the snakeskin, she didn't notice someone else nearby—someone who was watching her intently with his striking red eyes...
Curtis's POV:
I was just returning to my cave after a hunt when I caught a faint, alluring scent near the entrance. It was a female's scent, but unlike the ones I despise—those bad, overwhelming odors. No, this one was... captivating. It drew me closer, and I followed it without hesitation.
What I saw took me by surprise.
A little thing—a very little thing—stood there, inspecting my snakeskin. She was a female, a beautiful one, unlike any I'd seen before. Compared to the mermaid I once encountered, she was far more enchanting. Her scent, her delicate features, her cuteness—it was all irresistible.
But what really captivated me was her sparkling eyes, glimmering like sunlight as she examined my skin. I was utterly enchanted.
General POV:
Just as Sara was admiring the snakeskin, she suddenly heard footsteps approaching. Startled, she looked up to see a very alluring man—a lean figure with glowing red eyes.
Her system chimed in, confirming what she already suspected: this was Curtis.
Before she could react further, Curtis swiftly wrapped her in his tail, pulling her closer for a better look. She froze, dazed, as he smirked down at her.
Curtis: "Female, why are you here alone? Where is your mate?"
Sara (snapping out of it): "Don't call me 'female.' I have a name, and it's Sara. What's yours, handsome?" [flirty tone]
Curtis: "Oh, beautiful fe—Sara. My name is Curtis. And now... you're mine."
Sara: "Well, nice to meet you, Curtis! I'd love to take you as a mate, but I..."
Curtis (interrupting, excitedly): "Really?! You would take me as a mate? No snake man has ever been given such an honor!"
Sara (rolling her eyes): "Hey! At least let me finish what I was going to say!"
She took a deep breath and continued:
"There are a lot of things I need to explain, but here's the deal—my first mate will be Harvey, the leopard healer. Don't get mad, okay? You're a snake man, and I know you'll need to hibernate in the winter. What am I supposed to do for my safety and beauty while you're snoozing? I'll need other mates, darling~~~"
Curtis narrowed his eyes, visibly irritated by her words, but his tone remained calm.
Curtis (thinking): Her language is infuriating, but... she's not wrong. Her safety is a priority. I hate the idea of sharing, but if it's for her protection... I'll allow it.
