Knock Knock

A knock sounded at the chamber's door, disturbing the quiet in the room.

"You may come in," Xi Ming called, his voice steady.

The head maid stepped inside, bowing deeply, with Ye Jin following close behind. "Your Highness, the maid you requested," she said respectfully.

Xi Ming's eyes peered at Ye Jin. She was dressed in a simple drab like the other maids, yet she somehow made it look alluring.

Xi Ming waved his hand at the head maid, dismissing her. "You may leave. Jin-er, stay."

The head maid bowed and left the room, leaving only Ye Jin and Xi Ming.

As soon as the door closed, Xi Ming strode over to Ye Jin, wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her close in a warm embrace. His voice was soft.

"Finally, you're here. You don't know how much I've been waiting for you."

Ye Jin stiffened, caught off guard a bit. "Your Highness, this is inappropriate. I am here as your maid."
